About all I can say for these past few days is wow. I can certainly see my blessings and can readily count them.
Last week was alright; I went to a massage class with Michele and we learned the basics of full body massage. Let me tell you! Only your true friends would go through something like that with you, because only your true friends will massage your bum. Michele is one of those true friends.
I was home for the weekend, worked Friday, decorated teh deck on Saturday with my father for Halloween, then went to see Robert Munsch perform live. That was amazing! I grew up on his books, so it was quite an honor to actually get to meet him in person. I also got my book signed, and two signed for Christmas presents.
Since I got back here, though, has been amazing. Yesterday, I reached the ripe old age of 21. I received a grand total of 4 birthday hugs, a birthday kiss, 2 cards and 1 cake just from people I got to school with, not to mention many, many well wishes. Friday night we're having my party, and as far as I can count, I'm expecting close to 25 people to come. 25! Before I came here, I never wold have imagined that possible. It makes me think back, really. My first year here, I spent my birthday with people I hardly knew and had an amazing time. Last year, it was my close friends and their significant others, and that was an even better time. This year is going to completely rock! I really realize how lucky I am to have friends like that.
And today was just the icing on the cake. My grandmother was due to go in for surgery on her breast today to have a lump removed. She went in, and went in for x-rays to locate the lump and mark it for surgery, and it was gone. The past month of worrying and anxiety and stress all lead up to the amazing moment when they did they 8th mamogram today and said it was gone, and there would be no surgery. I was in class when they found this out, and I came home to the message waiting on my machine. All I could do was go up to Ben's, tell him what happened, and cry. It was just all so much so fast! But it was amazing news. Tonight's birthday dinner will certainly be more than just that.
