Just finished this. Read chapter 1 if you haven't read my story yet. It gets really good as it goes on so keep on reading it's worth it. Please leave a comment


Michelle woke up to a beautiful day. It was the first day of her travel and the atmosphere around Michelle and Kane was really awkward. The first few days were rough. Michelle was starting to finally see the real side of Kane. Of course she didn’t expect any special treatment but this was totally different. The only time she heard him talk was if he was yelling at her. It sometimes got very violent and physical but Michelle somehow always manages to calm things down by just taking the blame. Everyday she tried to get Kane to talk by asking some questions but he barley responded to any. She tried to get a long the best she could and make the most out of this but things never went very smooth.
“Hey stop dazing off now,” Kane shouted at Michelle. “ We need to go now and I don’t have time to waste on you.
Michelle looked at Kane for a brief second and then looked away. “Fine” she answered with a frown and started to follow.
They both traveled till dark and then rested by a lake. As they ate some fish Michelle suddenly had a question she wanted to ask.
“Um… Kane” She asked nervously.
“What,” Kane responded in an irritated way.
“Well I know you don’t really respond to my questions but I want to ask something.” As she took a short pause and look away to stop some tension that was building she asked, “Why are you traveling Kane?”
There was a long silence and Michelle thought that he completely ignored her. Then he seemed to be warming up and he said he was traveling to get revenge,”
Michelle stared at him then was very compelled to find out why is he seeking revenge. “So you travel to get revenge. Revenge for what?”
He stared at the lake and said, “There is a guy I’m after. Every time I think of him I just want to kill him so badly.” As he was clenching his fist he continued on “I’m not the only one that feels that way. There are many others that want his head. He is not a demon but he somehow got so strong that he could even rival the strongest demon. He is very evil and deceiving. He loves trick and play with people’s minds.
Michelle was amazed at what Kane wanted to do. He bared a deep hatred for this person and also wanted to kill him. After hearing all this she didn’t want to continue asking questions and just said with a smile “ Thanks for telling me this”
Kane stared at her confused then murmured,” why are you saying thanks?”
She just responded by saying “ well we’ve been traveling almost two weeks together and you barley even talk to me. I’m just happy you told me something. I could tell it wasn’t that easy for you to tell me why you wanted to travel because as you were telling me this you were really tense.”
Kane glanced at Michelle and told her “You’re a very weird girl”
“Thank you. I take that as a complement” she said giggling. Then she spotted Kane smiling. This was the first time Michelle saw him smile.
Morning came and they were off again. Kane was his usual self but Michelle sensed that he was finally starting to tolerate her presents. They then took a route that leads them out of the forest and into rocky terrain. Kane told Michelle on the other side there was a village she could live at. Michelle had an uneasy feeling and she was scared to travel through the rocky terrain. She walked a little closer to Kane and asked “can’t we walk around this.”
“Why Should we. The rocky terrain stretches across this field to the ocean. It will be just a waste of time and energy. This way will take at least two or three days.”
Michelle just continued to follow closely and said okay. Dark was almost setting in and they were halfway in. Kane and Michelle both looked for a cave to go in to rest. As they headed towards a cave they heard loud screeches. It was very high pitched at first then became softer. Out of nowhere the ground shook below them and Kane pulled Michelle’s arm and jumped backwards. As they jumped back a huge centipede like monster rose up at the place we were standing. Then many more rose up surrounding the two. All together there was at least30. All of them were big and had many legs. Their legs had long sharp thorns.
As one of them charged in Kane jumped in the air and dodged the bite. He then did a flip and landed on its back. Kane stabbed it with his sword and drove it all the way down to split it in half. As Kane was dealing with a few of the monsters one of them deicide to switch to an easier prey and attacked Michelle.
“Stupid girl, move” Kane hollered but when she moved her feet she slipped on the ground. Michelle closed her eyes then she felt liquid dripping on her. As she opened her eyes she saw Kane blocking the monster with his sword but one of the thorns struck him in the arm. He then bent down and split it’s jaw opened. Then he jumped forward and struck it in its heart. Kane knelt to the ground soon after.
Michelle ran to Kane and kneeled dawn beside him. “Kane your hurt.”
“Forget it. Your just getting in the way,” Kane lashed out at her.
“Sorry but you got hurt because of me.” As she said this she started to cry.
Kane just looked at her and said, “Stop your crying.”
He looked at the remaining few that were still trying to attack. There was at least twenty left and Kane was hurt badly. Suddenly he said the words “Michelle step back for a moment”
Michelle nodded her head and did what he said. Kane then breathed deeply and he put his palm on the ground. He was concentrating on the area with all his strength. Michelle was very puzzled at what he was doing but waited. Then all of the monsters took this moment prepared for the final onslaught.
As they charged in closer and closer Michelle was getting terrified and stared at Kane. All of a sudden Michelle felt a great power flow pass her. Then she closed her eyes because as soon as she felt the force hitting her blinding light went her way. She opened her eyes and saw ashes in the place of the monsters. She then turned her attention to Kane.
He was terribly exhausted and was torn up everywhere. Michelle touched his arm she asked if he was going to be all right. Then she suggested going to the cave so he could rest. As she said this it started to rain. The rain was drizzling slowly down washing some of the blood of. Then as lighting lit the sky a man showed up in front of them. In Michelle’s head she said who is he? Her heart started to pound and her breathing became longer.
“I can’t believe you showed your face to me right now,” Kane said angrily. I will attack you and get you back for what you did.” Kane tried to stand up but fell back down.
Michelle helped him up and said to Kane “your in no condition to fight now. If you might die”
“You know the girl is right. I’m very disappointed in you Kane. This should have been easy for you to defeat.”
:”Shut your mouth!! That was an easy task to beat and now I’ll kill you.
“Ha, you think you can beat me. You can try but that will be impossible. Try when you could stand up without falling back to the ground. Right now it wouldn’t be much fun if you attack me now. “
Then he turned his back and left as he did Kane burst out and yelled. “Don’t you runaway. Err, come back here Kaito!!” As Michelle heard that name Michelle felt a sharp pain or feeling pierce threw her. In a soft voice she said Kaito.
Dark set in all the way. Dark clouds covered the moon and the rain started pouring down. Kane was resting and was tried not to move too much. Michelle tried to go to sleep. Every time she closed her eyes she thought about that man and how she felt when she heard his name.
Michelle was full of wonder and questions. She thought to herself very hard trying to answer these questions. “Who was that guy? Kane said his name was Kaito. I feel as if I met him before but I can’t remember seeing his face. Why did I feel that way at that moment that Kane said his name? I just don’t understand. Michelle then turned to see the ceiling and somehow couldn’t get the image of the young man out of her head. When she was tired and couldn’t keep her eyes open anymore she went to sleep.
Morning broke in with a wonderful weather. It wasn’t that hot or cold. Just warm and it was very bright,
“I see your finally awake Michelle”
“Yeah, anyways are you okay? You were injured really badly. You shouldn’t really be standing up now.”
“Are you forgetting that I’m a demon? Those wounds were not so serious and they already healed. I was just tired from the battle. I just needed a little rest to get back up. Anyways it’s morning so lets go.”
“Okay”
As the two were traveling out of the rocky terrain Michelle was curious about what happened last night and asked “Kane, last night how you defeat the monsters.” Kane explained to her that he was a demon that control lighting. He could manipulate lighting to destroy and attack. Different situations require different amounts of energy. Last night took a lot of energy to destroy those demons so that’s why I was so drained.
“Wow that’s really impressive “ Michelle spoke to herself. Then she started to remember the guy from yesterday. She stopped talking and started to think. She was trying to remember if she ever met him before.
Kane pointed straight and said “ Look there’s the village”
Michelle looked up and saw the village. It was a small village that looked kind of busy. Kane and Michelle then walked close to the village and Kane said, “This is as far as I will take you. Like I promised I took you to a village. Now you could deal with the rest. I’m going now.”
Michelle saw him walk a few paces and a sort of feeling just hit her. She felt a desire to travel more. Wait she called out and told him what she wanted to do. Please let me Travel with you just a little more.
“What.” Kane got angry and yelled “ You said to a village. I didn’t promise you that you could keep following me around.”
Michelle said in a sincere voice “ I know that. I’m very sorry if I caused you trouble so far but please listen to my selfish request. Since yesterday we met that person....
“You mean Kaito”
“Yes”
“So what about Kaito.” Kane got a little interested in what Michelle had to say when she mentioned Kaito.
“Well I think I told you already but a few days before I met you I woke up in a cave. I lost all of my memory of what happened before and couldn’t recall anything that happened when I woke up. Since I saw Kaito many questions have been in my head and I could just remember something but I can’t get it clear. I don’t know but I want answers to what had happen and why I’m here.”
Kane stared at Michelle with interest and frustration. He wondered how this related to Kaito and was very confused. Then he responded in a sharp tone “Fine travel with me if you want but you have to make sure to take care of yourself. I’m not going to baby sit you and you need to know I don’t travel very safely. Many creatures and demons will frequently attack and some are even more powerful than those centipede demons.”
“I know and I will try not to cause trouble. Until I have some questions answered I won’t have a peace of mind and I know I’m a weak girl but I try to protect myself. All I know is I’m almost in a different place.”
Kane looked away and started walking. Then Michelle followed right behind. “ I can’t believe her. Dangers are going to increase but she still wants to come. I could care less if she dies or not but I’m very interested in what will happen now and what does this have to do with Kaito.
