Kamahal arrived at a door. He was not sure what he was doing at the door, he only knew that that was were he was and that was all of were he was, there was nothing else. Not even the ground or a wall, just a door. He reached for the doorknocker, but his hand just moved right through, he shrugged and walked through the door
“Hello there" a friendly female voice said, “What are you doing around these parts. I don’t get many visitors you see"
“Err… I am not sure, I just kind of am"
“Alright then, lets start again with introductions. I’m Sasha."
“I’m Kamahal" said Kamahal kind of dazed
“Nice name," said Sasha, “your parents had a great taste in names."
“And a horrible taste in music" Kamahal added
The cookoo clock on the wall cookooed. At least you would call it a wall. I mean a clock can’t hang off nothing, can it? This was the first time Kamahal looked around the room. It was small with cobblestone floors a table with two chairs, a fridge, a clock, and a fireplace with a kettle over it. There were no walls, you just kind of looked out into vast never ending nothingness. It hurt your eyes if you looked at it too long. Sasha herself was a pudgy sort of woman very pretty about the face with small thin wire framed glasses and a tatty old dress with gloves with the fingers cut out
“Teatime! Would you like some tea?"
“Err"
“Of course you would like some tea" Sasha replied not waiting for an answer signaling for him to sit in one of the little wooden chairs “its Aunty Mays secret recipe. Everybody likes Aunty May’s tea. I suppose you’re a sleepwalker, unless you’re dead." Sasha glared at Kamahal through her little glasses “You don’t look dead to me. Yes, must be a sleepwalker." Sasha turned towards the fireplace and bent down to get the kettle, and returned carrying full tray of tea in fine china, complete with little buttered biscuits placing the tray on the table
“Umm were is this place?" Said Kamahal taking advantage of the brief silence wile Sasha pored the tea
“Oh, here there and everywhere. Do you have sugar?"
“No thanks" said Kamahal staring at the fire the flames were almost green. Sasha handed him his tea. He tasted it. It was incredible, almost caramel. They sat drinking and making unimportant small talk for a wile till Sasha looked up and the clock
Oh my! I am going to be late to meet William. Do you want to come too? I think you will like William, nice man, brilliant but crazy." Sasha was already getting her cloak off the cloak hook Kamahal was fairly sure was not there before. He also looked up at the clock, it hand no hands, “Sure" its not like he had anything else to do
Sasha tossed Kamahal a overcoat, “Its going to be cold" she said and opened the door and stepped out onto the snowy streets of old London waiting for Kamahal to follow.
Kamahal all of a sudden became aware of a strange feeling in his arm. “Actually" he said “I think I had better give this a miss for now. I will umm, see you later"
“Oh, alright, I suppose I have kept you for quite a long time for a sleepwalker. Will you come with me next time?"
“Sure" said Kamahal before he opened his eyes
Sasha then turned and started walking in the general direction of Australia, 2004
