I recently read a story about a Jehovah witness couple that had a set of 5 babies who needed the treatment that goes against their beliefs.
Well, two babies died, so the government seized the other three to make sure they got the proper treatment so they'd live. There were two blood transfusions done.
The father said "'[The mother] and I could not bear to be at the hospital when they were violating our little girl" Indicating that the blood transfusions were a terrible violation.
"The parents will be back in court later in February where they will argue against future seizures, and, according to their lawyer, demand an apology for what they call the province's outrageous and illegal handling of their case."
However, in Canada there are certain standards and laws that have to be met when raising children. Children's Aid Society states that:
"Neglect occurs when a caregiver fails to provide basic needs such as adequate food, sleep, safety, supervision, clothing or medical treatment. "
They FAILED to meet the requirements of parenthood so the children were rightfully taken anyways. That's the way the law works.
Any other person who has a baby that dies goes through long investigations to prove whether or not there was foul play on their part, whether they didn't do something right ,or at all.
Now I don't think Jehovah Witnesses are bad people, but to let your own children die because of your beliefs that they might not even want when they're older anyways? Please explain this to me. If I'm not mistaken, Witnesses do not believe in abortion, but yet they believe it's alright to sacrifice their child's life for a religion the child could have grown up to think is BS anyways? (Children stray, it's a fact of life).
