Prologue
Uh...huh. So I thought I'd put the prologue to meh story up, just because I felt like it. Feel free to read it, or don't. I don't care. (P.S. The whole thing is copyright ME. Prologue

Raised in a village renowned for their swordsmanship skills, Koza had wielded a rapier since the day he could hold one. He was found outside of the village one day abandoned by whoever (or whatever) had taken care of him. For a time, the village elder raised him, but because he was an outsider, he was never truly accepted by the other villagers. Koza had always trained off on his own, all day and night, honing his skills. One day he met a boy a few years older than himself named Adrian. Adrian was also skilled in the ways of the rapier, much like Koza, though unlike Koza, the other villagers all respected Adrian. The two became fast friends, and they formed a bond that could best be described as brothers. The village couldn't understand what Adrian saw in Koza, but they remained silent about it.

Seasons came, and seasons went, and the two developed their sword skills together, though Adrian was always the stronger of the two. He became the greatest swordsman the village had to offer. He would always defend the village from any threat that arose, and Koza was so proud to be his best friend, his brother. The villagers grew so dependant on Adrian's skills, that they lost faith in their own abilities, and the ability to defend themselves. Unbeknownst to the brothers, or the village, Adrian possessed a special "power" that would soon change everything.

One clear summer night, under the light of a full moon, the two snuck out to play without being bothered by anybody. While running through the village, Adrian happened to look up at the full moon that lit up the night sky. As soon as he did, something strange began to happen. Eyes focused on the moon, he began to change. His eyes turned blood red, his clothing began to turn black and red, and he started to act strangely. Koza ran up beside him, suspecting nothing.

"Adrian?" Koza said. Adrian looked sharply at Koza with bloodlust in his eyes, which caused Koza to take a step back. Adrian drew the rapier that he had used to protect the village on numerous occasions and ran off. It wasn't long before Koza heard the sound of buildings being destroyed in the distance. He raced off to see what was happening. When he reached the front of the village, nothing but destruction awaited him. The worst part was that Adrian was the one behind it. Koza was afraid, more so than the villagers. Not of what would become of the village, but of what was happening to his best friend. He was the only one that ever showed any kindness towards Koza, the only one to not reject him as an outcast, the only friend he ever had. To his horror, he watched as the villagers slowly surrounded Adrian in an attempt to overpower and kill him. Unfortunately for Koza, they succeeded. Afterwards, they turned their sights on Koza, with tears in their eyes. They blamed Koza for what happened to Adrian, they told him that he was a bad influence and that he had corrupted him. They all blamed him for the destruction, and as such their next goal was to kill Koza. Horrified, Koza took off in the other direction, with the village close behind. Tears streaming down his face, Koza made a U-Turn without the village seeing him and dashed back to his brother's body. Not wanting it to just end this way, he did his best to take the body and flee the village.

Running as fast as he could, Koza made his way to a clearing in the middle of nowhere. It was here that he dug a makeshift grave and gave his brother a proper burial. His brother's prized possession, the rapier, he took with him. Adrian had always told him that the day he died, the rapier would belong to Koza. That day had finally come. Wiping his eyes, Koza took the rapier, said his final goodbyes to his brother, and took off once more into the night. Nowhere to go, and with no one to turn to, he was on his own.

This is a great start! It sets up the story nicely, and there's lots of room to flesh it out and make it longer and more detailed, if you so choose. I'm definitely ready to read the first chapter!
