Member Me Do you think that God would not protect the bones of his son? God even protected Moses bones from Satan when Satan wanted to find them so he could do whatever to them. What passage is this? I'm genuinly interested... The Old Testament doesn't have a "Satan" gonk
Jude 9 is the one scripture where the bible talks of this conflict. It brings it up briefly as an after thought considering it's never mentioned in the Hebrew scriptures. Jude 9 is really making the point of Gods right to final judge that Michael (Jesus Christ) recognized and refused to rebuke Satan for. But however brief, it is interesting to get a view into another conflict that Satan was trying to succeed in and one that Jesus put an end to. While Satan the name does not appear anywhere near as often as it does in the Greek scriptures, the conflict that Satan caused among mankind is well documented when we consider the attitude that Satan had towards God and anything He created. Satan literally means resister. His turning away from Gods authority and seeking his own fame and glory and being the one who decieved Eve and brought mankind to a basic standstill, is talked of over and over in the bible and makes him the one being spoken of as being in charge of many other angels that follow him. Job 1:6, in the Hebrew or Old Testament, is where Satan is finally named. He didn't always have this name and the bible does not give us any indication as to what his name was prior to his resisting God. It's of no importance anymore because this angel had the freedom of choice granted to all of Gods inteligent creations and he chose to go against God. Zechariah 3: 1 (Hebrew scriptures) mentions Satan again and shows him to be standing once again in a position to resist. In other words...he's always taking that stand against God. Anything good that God does, Satan is always ready to destroy it so as to mislead many and to try and bring glory to himself. But Job really gives an indepth account into what Satan is really like and how cruel he can be. In the Greek scriptures at John 8: 44 Jesus gives a indepth view of Satan and calls him a manslayer and the father of the lie. When we consider the way he decieved Eve and brought about mankinds fall (we're no longer perfect and live forever), and how he lied to Eve when he decieved her (by telling her that she would positively not die), he is rightfully called the father of the lie because he did it first and continiues to do it in our own time.
