Years ago, there was wondrous technology. Machines, that would do whatever you could think of. Elevators to climb tall buildings in a minute or two, teleporting devices that could take from one place to another in a flash. Clothing which absorbed any impact thrown upon it. Many more things like this were found with every eye full of this high tech world. But, fate as it seems, has a very cruel sense of humor. I am about to tell you the tale of a few men who go on a quest to find the great Dragon Gems...
"Cmon, we're going to miss the game!" called James Riznick. "You better not make me miss half of it like last time! Ha ha!" He laughed.
"Alright, alright, I'm coming!" Replied Alexander Klaymore, jogging up to meet with his friend. They were both excited to watch the zero-G volleyball tournament finals with the Twin City Strikers Vs the Ape City Overlords. While the Overlords where good, all money from the city was on the Strikers. They all lived care-free lives, when elsewhere, in a land far, yet not too far away, the very fate of the world was being decided.
"This is the end of the line for you, Zorkhan! I have finally found you, and shall destroy you once and for all!" shouted Damian, a powerful warrior chosen to defeat the evil of this land.
"Fool, end of the line or not, this is as far as I need to go to complete my plans" Said Zorkhan. He began to back up slightly and began to turn.
"STOP! You will go no further!" shouted Damian, as he ran towards him, sword in hand.
"The dead, live again!" called Zorkhan. Instantly, Armed skeletons rose from the ground and attacked Damian. Zorkhan fled, leaving them to fight. By the time Damian defeated the skeletons and caught up to Zorkhan, it was all too late.
"It is time, Damian. I shall now take this world and shape it to my image!" Said Zorkhan.
You overestimate your position, Zorkhan. You have hit a corner from which you never return!" growled Damian, as he charged at his foe. Zorkhan laughed, and took 3 steps back. When Damian reached Zorkhan, he was reflected and pushed back with heavy force.
"Ha ha ha, you were a worthy advisory, Damian. But now, you must begone..." said Zorkhan. He began to rise into the air, and the room was filled with bright lights. "Dragon Gems of holy fury, give the strength to shape this world into whatever I desire!" bellowed Zorkhan. 10 consecutive streams of light appeared one by one. "UNLEASH!!!!!!" screamed Zorkhan. An amazing burst of energy filled the room. Damian blacked out, and luckily did not witness the horror of what was yet to come. A large orb of energy grew larger and larger by the millisecond, devastating mountains, destroying entire cities in less than 3 seconds. It drew towards Alexander Klaymore's city and changed his life forever.
It wasn't going to well in the game, as the Strikers were losing 3-1 against the overlords. The hopes of Alexander and James were falling fast when they felt a great tremor. They turned just in time to witness a massive explosion destroy his entire city. Then engulf him in an knock out powerful blast. When he awoke, he had never been in half the amount of pain he was in right now. His entire body was sore, and stung in several places he suspected were bleeding. He vision was unclear, and he tasted blood. He tried to get up, and before he even moved, his body doubled over in pain. He lay there, in great pain, unable to think clearly. What had just happened? Where was everyone? Why was he in so much pain? He asked himself silently over and over.
Finally, his body wasn't too sore to stand and he got up. Everywhere he looked, there it was a horrid wasteland, less than a ghost of it's original self. Seeing virtually nothing around him, a final question came to mind: "Where is James?" As soon as he asked himself, something, whatever the heck it was, appeared. It was like nothing Alexander had ever seen. A pale green, no more than 3 feet tall, armed with a knife and with an evil grin on its face.
