I haven't been feeling good today. Sick to my stomach and generally have the blah's. Guess I've got a touch of the flu. I've been hearing on the news how the flu's going around in the state where I live. Now I guess it's orange juice and plenty of rest for a few days. But with all this rest I've been watching tv. Unfortunately tv's a poor resort for entertainment as 99% of the time every show on it revolves around some slut trying to bed an innocent or another slut, some smartmouths view of things they deem important, this or that news anchor's view of the world and the things going on in it, which most time has nothing to do with the things really going on, or someone asking for money to "better" my life. I always wonder why they don't just come out and say..."Send us your money so we can live as close to a kings life while you struggle to maintain our lifestyle." I never fall for that mess because these people always remind me of car salesmen. If you've ever dealt with a car salesman, you know what I'm talking about. If you haven't had that experience yet in your life...just remember this person from Clive Barker's book, Weaveworld...Shadwell. So in all the television "entertainment" today I watched and pondered alot of things. The first and most outstanding thing I pondered was the news coverage of the election. People dying in the world from brutality of all sorts, starving from lack of food, getting sick because they have no clean water and all the while the leaders are more concerned with their popularity and getting elected. It's like a school prom where they expect those present to vote on their favorite couple so they can bask in the glory and do nothing but smile their fake smiles while their eyes hold the look of pure manipulation in them. I've heard some screaming for mandatory voting lately. Meaning all those of age are forced by law to vote. Now, without getting into all the 'illegalities" of this and my current position of neutrality, I have something to say. Why would anyone vote for someone they knew wasn't going to keep their promises? What do they do? Look for the person they think is the "least" liar, then vote for them? Wheres the rightness of that? Talk about Shadwell. The one thing I did see today on tv that really made me feel sad, and remind me of what I really put my faith in (that in turn gave me hope), was the St. Jude's Hospital commercial where kids who have cancer go for treatment. I've seen the commercial before a hundred times. Bald kids from infants to teens laying on gurny's with tubes stuck in them looking as frail and as pale as old people back at the camera with eyes that show they know far more about suffering than someone they're age should. You automatically know some of them don't suvive, even though they hug and pat the adults near them as if to say, "It's alright." But yet the world worries more about whoes making bombs, whoes getting pushy and who wants to lead next than they are in dying, starving, neglected or battered children. Ask me how can I believe in God and I'll ask you, how can you not?
