Today was full of all sorts of excitement and merriment for me, seeing as how I had alot to accomplish on my day off and none of it will yield any sort of results immediately. Some may never yield results, but that's for the future to show.

Anywho, the day started off after having another night of only a few hours of sleep and then arising at 7:30 AM in order to be at the doctor's office by 8:30 AM to have some blood work done. You know, the usual cholesterol, STD and HIV tests to make sure I'm a clean boy (No reason I shouldn't be) and that I've got all my ducks in a row. It was a promise I made the other day, so I was determined to do it as soon as possible. We'll find out next week for definite that I'm clean as a brand new chalkboard.

Then it was back to the folks' place to internet it up a bit and poke fun with <b>Zahir</b> before heading off to Denny's with my parents. We ate and I ended up going back to the house so I could watch their puppies until they were done having a Mommy Daddy Date Day. I only stayed at first for a few hours before heading over to EB to confront Mary in person about what's going on with the new Cocoa store and about me being her Assistant Manager and to see how much a** kissing I needed to do to make it apparent to her what this position meant to me.

I got there and talked with Chad for a bit before Matt, the district manager, called and got irritated by the fact that it was after 1:00 PM and Mary still wasn't there, as per the schedule she had made for the week. Apparently, she did the same last week as well when Matt called, so he's getting quite perturbed at her with this behavior. When she did arrive though, she and I went for a walk down to her beloved Great American Cookie Company and then back to in front of EB, where she sat and talked with me about what's going on.

She told me all about how Matt's been on vacation and she's been busy and how he sent her three applications, but none of them was mine. He apparently hadn't even discussed mine with her, so she said she'd talk to him on their conference call today at 3:00 PM about it. She started running over some things with me about what Matt would be interested in hearing when he interviewed me and things that I should impress upon him when he talked to me. She genuinely seemed like she really liked the idea of me being her ASM what with giving me tips, so that's a good sign. She also said that Matt would be in the store on Thursday at around 1:00 PM because they had to do an inventory at another store that evening and that she would force Matt to have free time to interview me on Thursday. So, things are looking up and hopefully I'll get the job so I can start saving money for my big move.

After that bit of happy news, I went back to Mom and Dad's and fell asleep for three hours because damn, I was exhausted from the past several days. When I woke up, Mom and Dad had just came home and, since the last time any of us had eaten was Denny's that morning, they took me out to Maui's for dinner. I got to finish <b><u>Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince</u></b> while I was there, so that gave me a sorry sense of satisfaction.

Now I'm home, still tired and counting the days until Thursday when I can go in and do my damndest to show Matt that I'm the best man for the job.
