Be silent, listen
if only for a fleeting moment
to those crying voices beside you
all around you
surrounding, suffocating
they're there, don't ignore it
reality is a harsh world
but it is one that so many
have to face, unarmed and
utterly unprepared.
So take up the vow of silence
and just listen
to those crying voices
Your silence might help them speak.
(Today was vow of silence at our school and this isn't really a poem, but sure. I guess it is.)
