The Legend of Vinnycent: Chapter 1
Swoosh! A dagger just flew by me, clinging onto the tree on my right. I looked back at where the dagger was thrown, but could only see the greenery of the forest. I took the dagger out of the tree, and raced forward. I was running for my life. The trees I passed; 5, 10, 20, 30. Suddenly, I stopped. In front of me I spotted a group of 4, all armed and ready to kill. I slowly took two steps back, spun around, and ran again. Swoosh! I turned around and swung my dagger at the incoming weapon flying in the sky. I then caught it in midair, and threw it back at my attacker. 1 down, 3 to go. Another one rushed in front of me and swung his sword. I pulled out my blade and parried his attack. I then used the dagger in my other hand to pierce him in the heart. He was dead within milliseconds. To my left, there were not only one, but two. The first one plunged at me, trying to slice me in half. I quickly cut off his hand with my dagger, and sliced off the second's upper body. I then put the edge of my sword near the 1st one's throat.
"Sir, please don't kill me. This is all a big misunderstanding. We were out hunting. My brother... he didn't have good eyesight. He mistook you for an animal, and threw his dagger at you. After realizing you were human, there was no turning back. You see, he knew you were going to kill him, so he had to kill you first. My brothers and I... we stick together. That's why we attacked you. Please! Don't kill me," the man said.
"Fine." I pulled back my blade and put it away. I then continued walking. After a short distance, I heard a noise behind me. I grabbed my blade, spun around, parried the man's attack, and stabbed him with my dagger. "May your family rest in peace; and one, in pieces." I walked away, acting as if nothing happened.
