I was unsure about The Mist, when I first saw the trailers for it. After watching it though, I'm so glad I got it.
The Mist is about... a mist. Within the mist are creatures that eat people and even other creatures. I won't spoil what they are or were they came from, but the special effects and story are great.
However, if you're a religious person, do not watch this. It may upset you. In the movie, people lock themselves in a grocery store. They end up splitting into two groups. One group, thinks through things rationally and try to solve the problem. The other group, which ends up being the larger group, are the weak minded and scared, in hopes of being saved by a God. This movie shows how scary religious people can be and how blindly they follow their religion, when they can't think things through on their own.
So... I'm unsure which the true monsters in this movie were. The ones in the mist or the religious people. Either one is scary and both kill the innocent.

I don't know about other religions, but in Christianity, one of the biggest messages that are taught over and over is "God helps those, who help themselves." With that said, Unfortunately some people just take that message more as that God will help them out of ANY situation, no matter what. No, If God helps them who help themselves, then that means they must first do something to try and help themself, and he (or she) will follow through with helping to make other things fall into place.
