Up in Flames

My world is on fire
My heart has been set on fire once again
By all of my desire
To carry on with my life in this godforsaken world
My heart burns with sin
My mind burns with the thought of you and all that you’ve done to me
You ran out like person escaping a burning house
Now I am left alone to burn for all eternity.

All of those love letters have burned in the flames of my heart
And all of my feelings for you have gone with them.
I will never be the same
After all the burning torture I’ve endured
You’re a burning thought stuck in my head
Ever so painfully burned into me

I wish I could say my heart, my mind, and my soul will heal
From this burning thought of you
But as we all know
Life is better in set up in flames.

Each lie I believed
I wish I hadn’t
I wish I ran away instead of heading down that road
For we both know there is no redemption from this sin
This burning desire to love again

The burning image of your face makes my eyes bleed
For what seems to be an eternity
Even though we all enjoy fire
We don’t like to be set on fire
In our own desires

No matter what
We all know that life
Is better set on fire
And in the flames of desire
We must all face the world that is set up in flames.
