In the Pursuit of Happyness...
Like boom...
What's happenin.

Yep, tis I. Back from a long two weeks in what could nearly feel like hell. I will write in no particular order what I did but I will write as much as my memory affords.

We get off a 5+2 hour plane flight and step out and I run into this wall of humidity. And I don't mind it that much but this I did. This humidity slapped on 20 degree farenheit (yes since there they calculate in celcius and something else. Celcius I am not that far off in calculating (but I am not that close either) but the other I never heard of. I would of figured kelvin but I am not that lucky) and it was just bad bad bad. Plus it just rained so all icky and stuff. Twas bad.

The home was big and nice. Too bad I hardly got to fully enjoy it. I am proud to say though that I left that island with only two mosquito bites as compared to everyone else (Mom, Dad, Bro, Krystal, and my bro's friend Daniel) whom got a pretty dozen at least. I am cool.

I found out DeMolay does exist down there but under the name of Sons of Acacia. That is what Angel told me. Wish I coulda visited them but I couldn't since we have no way of contacting them.

Well I saw my grandma's grave site. Angel and Dad both cried. I even saw grandpa's site too.

Things that we did:

-We went to the 2 forts in San Juan (El Morro and Santiago I believe)
-Went to The Dry Forest of Guanica (supposedly the dryest forest in the world)
-The Cross and the mansion of Castillo in Ponce
-Visited the bacardi brewing factory (don't smell all the rum, some of em can make ya feel hella boo boo)
-Saw the Arecibo Observatory (the largest satelite on the world)
-Went to Tibes, a native life ground with a ginormous area of still undiscovered lands. (It is at least 10 acres of known and 29 of land to be investigated)
-Went to the Mall and Plaza in Ponce
-Went to a Spanish style home (twas totally Spanish of ye ole time)
-Saw lots of fountains in San Juan
-Met my relatives: Aunt Isaida, Cousin Cheo and his kid, another cousin and her 3 kids
-Went to the beach in Ponce and in Guanica (the one in Ponce will be having a cruise ship going there this week)

Things that I did:

-Got 7 shirts and a pair of pants at hot topics
-Got lots of Magic cards for cheap (I saved money, wow)
-Got 2 jerseys and 3 hats sporting Puerto Rico in some way
-Took lots of pictures
-Was ignored often
-Read 2 and a half books
-Continued studying IO
-Dominated in domino's
-Learned and dominated in Brisca (a card game of a sort similar to your standard deck of cards but a bit smaller)

That was the general gist of things. As I said, I took lots of pictures but most are stored on Angel's lap top so I'll have those this weekend. I'll see what I have here later tomorrow or the day after.

Common facts and other nonsense:

-Always add a minimum 15 degree farenheit to the weather
-Rain can be smelt coming, so don't stay outside
-Bugs is common, so are lizards. Make your friends wisely (I choose the lizards, they saved me)
-Just cuz 2/3 of the roads doesn't have lines doesn't mean more than one lane doesn't exist there.
-Go ahead and run a red light. Cops won't care til the last week before the end of the month
-Go ahead and speed. Cops won't care unless you are in the city
-Don't visit a foreign country when truckers go on strike therefore making gas stations run out, food not reach places, increase water costs, and threaten to eliminate the electricity
-You can tell a Puerto Rican and non-Puerto Rican by the simple question of "Does she have a medium to a large a**?" If yes than you probably either found a Puerto Rican or a healthy person (chances are a Puerto Rican)
-DDR exists everywhere so don't be shocked to see Puerto Ricans at the mall doing such
-Magic and Yugi exists everywhere so again, do the latter
-Spanish is key, if you give way that you are not a decent to a full hispanic/spanish speaker...you are ********.
-You'll never get away from the bugs, so don't run or you'll run into another
-Walls are cement, so don't punch em, you won't even dent them and that will be a waste of bone
-Don't drive crazy unless you are in a big vehicle, other wise give room for the bigger vehicle that'll make you pay dearly
-There is no slow drivers go to the right lane. There is no fast lane either. The fast lane is whatever one you can drive fastest in.
-Rum is it. So bring/buy lots of coke. (I suggest Don Q over Bacardi, trust my dad and bro)

Well this vacation really dented our family. Fights, arguments, and what not. Fortunately I was no where near any of it but to my mom whom her and I fix everything so awesome. Fights existed all else though. Oh I lied, I forgot my bro and I weren't getting along really since he doesn't get along with krystal. But like his friend Daniel, I am a good actor and know how to smile. I hope he saw that I was faking it though. I made sure he did. So I did a lot of reading too. I finished Dune and Dune Messiah. Now I am reading Children of Dune. I am a little over half done.

Well I am out...gotta sleep, and continue catching up to speed. Peace out holmes.

Funny little pointers, I'm sure they'll be handy to remember down there.

Heh...I agree with Riyu, if I ever go down to Puerto Rico, I'll have to remember some of those things. but I highly doubt I will, that sounds like WAY to many bugs for my liking. *shivers* But, I'm glad you all made it back safe and sound. It sounds like you went to some very interesting places. I'll be getting ahold of you later if you are On. Alright....Bye! heart
