Mac vs PC
I'll elaborate if you ask me to.

This is kind of mixed up because it was a reply to someone’s forum post. If you would like to make a pointer or argument I will be happy to discuss and build on this.

Look, the reason why your computer is slow could be any of the following reasons.
1. You don’t know basic PC maintenance. (Trust me, it is not hard to de-frag your hard drive.)
2. You have a virus, this is not because PCs suck, it is harder for a Mac to get a virus because who in their right mind makes a virus specifically designed to infect a Mac? A way to deal with this is learn how to use and configure a firewall or virus program, norton sucks. It is the most widely used one, therefore all the virus programmers already have a copy of it, have figured it out, and made viruses to bypass it’s shielding. Get McAfee.
3. Your computer has like, a 1.2 GHZ CPU. Get it upgraded.

The major disadvantages of having a mac are as follows.
1. The internal software and coding is next to impossible to configure or even understand. in a PC you can simply open a prompt window and have at it. Windows has amazing programs that people don’t know how to use. You can use notepad as a command prompt. I’ve seen someone run notepad as a web browser.
2. If it breaks (Which it does, we have about seven broken Macs in my graphics arts class. And we take care of them.) you can’t fix it yourself. You have to send it all the way to apple to get a new one or have them fix it.
3. You cannot upgrade it, if you have a PC you can simply open the side, and replace the hardware. (Well it’s not that simple, but close) With a Mac?...eeehhhh...nope.
4. Video Games? Hahahahahahahaha!!!!

Myths.
1. Macs are designed for art, and video.
Wrong, there are plenty of art programs that surpass even Photoshop in features, that have PC exclusive content and materials.
2. PCs suck because of Microsoft.
First of, how can you make this argument when you may have about three-four Microsoft programs on your PC. (IE, Word, and MS Paint, Movie Maker.) And the rest are third party programs. How can you say it is Microsoft’s fault that these programs mess up on their OS?

What I’m not saying.
1. Macs suck.
On the contrary, I think Macs are great. It’s just that they don’t fit my needs and uses, I also find them ridiculously expensive. I also prefer the familiarity of a PC. Mac’s frustrate me. I’m simply implying that it is not a game of ’what is better’. It is a game of ’what do you prefer’.

Very true.
I see you've attained the ability to say precisely what you want to while conveying your perspective effectively, thus eliminating misconceptions.

Congratulations.
I am a fellow PC lover. I'd get a mac, but there really isn't a significant advantage to it that isn't already being provided by my PC. In any case, It amuses me to figure out what's going on with my computer when it starts acting up. If it ran smoothly all the time, I think I'd get rather bored.

Not too mention the advantages of being the only one in my household who can make this thing function properly. I wouldn't change it. I love my PC to bits.

Wow. This is the most ownage PC-Mac comparison I've ever saw! Finally someone who would view all the advantages and disadvantages between the two and display it in such a neat way. However, I do think of a few things that would make them a bit more similar.

1. Macs are actually great for gaming when you think of it. If I were to play Battlefield 2142 (which has huge requirements to meet) on a PC running on Windows Vista, I would crash immediately. On a MacBook Pro however, It would run normally, plus it wouldn't lag at all.

2. For someone who would live in such a cramped area, Macs are great computers, as everything is in a single unit, rather than just 2 big, separate ones.
