not really relevant to the last entry, I just wanted to publically list my political opinions.
Well first of all I'd like to start off saying that I consider myself a very liberal democrat. I strongly believe in the separation of church and state. Religion is a personal thing and should remain that way, it is wrong to impose it upon others.
I also believe that gay marriage should be legal under every state law. There is no reason why two people that love each other shouldn't have the right to me wed just because they are gay or lesbian. No where in the bible does it directly say "gay marriage is wrong". "the bible is a book. a good book, but not the only book" Clarence Darrow.
Euthanasia should also be legal under every state law. I am currently writing my term paper on the subject. It is morally acceptable for one to decide to end their life if it is unbearably painful due to a terminally illness. A persons life should only be decided by themselves, no one else should be able to tell a person "you need to live through this illness because human life has value".
As for the issue of abortion, I believe it is a mothers choice to decide whether or not to terminate their pregnancy. Although it is the mothers fault for becoming pregnant (unless they are raped) if they are unable to pay for the medical expenses or take care of a child they should be able have an abortion. Personally, I would never consider this option. I think it's wrong, but America is also a free country and a person should have the chance to make their own decisions.
President Bush has gotten such a tremendous amount of publicity because he has lowered taxes. Did anyone stop for a second to realize that most of those cuts were for the rich? He has done very little to help the struggling families in our nation and lowering the taxes for the rich is pointless and stupid. I am not from a family which is financially insecure but I don't care if he raises OUR taxes I care about the families that are living below the poverty line.
What the freakin hell are we doing in Iraq? THEY don't want us there and we don't want to be there. "You break it you buy it" that's pretty much what happened to us isn't it? We've done everything we can to help Iraq, they need to stand up on their own. Thousands of US soldiers have died trying to fix a problem that didn't need to be created. Why did we go into Iraq in the first place? where was the proof that there were nuclear weapons there?
Bush is Cheney's puppet. Both Bush and John Carey had C- averages when they graduated high school and college (bush graduated high school with a 72 average, smart cookie huh? stare ). Okay well for now I think thats about enough of my rant.
