I see that you want to be long going, gone dad,
How can I ever make you proud then?
For you this seems to be oh so easy,
what will we do when we're alone?

When I was a child you told me once,
You wanted what was best for me,
To give us what you never had,
But for what it seems your words were full of lies.

You wanted to give me the world,
Is this your thought of the world?
A world where I see that you're gone,
but instead you're just not here?
I don't want that world,
I guess I will soon say I don't need you,
Now I see what the cruel world can do with the one's you love,
Selfish jobs and need of money,
Hasn't anyone ever heard of true happiness?

Since a child,
I wanted to make you proud of me,
make you say at least "Thats my daughter",
See you smile whenever I made something worth enough,
But I guess that was not your interest as a father,
instead you let your world fill you with nonsense,
In the need to work harder in order to go on,
Why can't you ever hear the tears of these 3 women?

Mom, my sister and I shall support each other then,
without your help,
I just hope that you at least call every now and then,
at least remember to say "Happy Birthday" in a call,
Don't forget to say "Im doing fine" once in a while,
But you cannot say "I love you all" anymore...

Because clearly those aren't the right words,
not for this situation,
How could you say such when you almost never express it?
Not at least anymore...

I'll try to be strong the day you leave,
which is just around the corner as they say,
No, if you don't see me cry its not because I don't care,
I just don't want you to see me cry when I know that you wont care.
