Appearance: When he was younger, he was taller and bonier than most everyone in his class—definitely not a pretty sight to lay one’s eyes on. But, as time wore on, the rate at which he grew taller slowed and his metabolism slowed a bit as well, evening out his ‘tall and bony’ stage of life at the not-so-grand height of five-foot-six-and-three-fourths, much to his relief. Also in years long past, he kept his hair short and neat, but over the past two years or so, grew his beautiful, curly auburn hair out just an inch-and-a-half past his tiny shoulders. Though, he rarely wears it down and almost always keeps it either in a bun or a ponytail at the back of his head, leaving a few of his curled bangs to frame his face. Regardless of whatever way he has his hair styled, though, it’s kept from frizziness by quite a bit of mousse and held into place with just enough light-hold hairspray to keep it from going everywhere. Following Amelie’s—his sister’s—advice, he also began to experiment a bit with highlighting, so now his dark reddish-brown hair contains nicely blended shades of light caramel, lighter shades of red, and blonde. As for his eyes, they’re wide and a dark green color, bits of brown around their centers, which matches nicely with his hair. His skin tone is healthy, occasionally a bit more tanned if he gets out in the sun more than his usual. By no means could one call his figure muscled, though his feminine, slightly more curved than your average teenage male build suits him well. His wardrobe consists of nice clothes—button-up shirts, dress pants, designer jeans, some t-shirts, and a variety of shoes. Mostly, though, he just wears whatever he finds that matches and is comfortable. It’s not like he’s out to impress anyone or anything, after all.
Additional accessories he tends to wear would a pair of glasses with rectangle-shaped lenses. He’s had vision problems since about fifth grade, though tends to wear contacts. On his lazy days or days that he plans to just stick around the dorm room, he usually wears his glasses so as to not have to put up with the frustrating act of putting in and taking out his contacts. Jewelry he wears would include a simple, small silver chain around his neck which sports a fancy cross as well as a multitude of simple, silver loop bracelets. His ears are pierced—yes, both of them—and usually have some sort of lightly colored rhinestone in them.
A few more random bits about his appearance would be that he favors the colors brown and dark green whenever he’s picking out what to wear for the day. Occasionally, but not too often, he’ll wear a pair of knee-length shorts or Capri pants, not caring to show off his (nicely shaved) legs as long as he’s somewhat decent. Due to growing up with a severe case of Momma’s-Boyism and having a sister that liked to experiment on him whenever she got the chance, he’s not above wearing a bit of light make-up sometime, though just enough so that it’s barely noticeable. There is, honest to God, very, very little that is masculine about him, if anything. Even the term “Chronically Metrosexual” is a pathetic understatement.
Personality: The first and most important aspect of Aubrey’s personality would be his kindness, once you get to know him. Starting out, he’s a bit shy when he meets people, but he’s naturally a kind person and always has been, being raised on good manners and whatnot since as far back as he could remember. He can’t stand to see anyone sad, for it tends to rub off easily on him when he’s around them too long and whenever he gets in a sad mood, it can be hard to get him out of them. Generosity is another important thing about him. Calling him materialistic would be a blatant lie. Aubrey is admittedly naïve to another extent. He tries hard to see the best in people, that’s all. Aubrey’s is also quite innocent and lacks the dirty mind most of his peers have. He’s quite a good candidate for the annual ‘The Most Jokes To Fly Right Over One’s Head’ award. He’s quite cheerful a good percentage of the time. Rarely would one catch him in a mood other than his friendly and cheerful norm. His bubbly personality tends to rub off on people, too, and his laughter is of the most contagious sort. However, when he does get angry, he ends up crying more than screaming.
His appearance is very important to him, but there’s one thing he can’t stand. At school, he’s always been teased for looking so girly. People tend to pick on him for it and he was even almost bullied into a few ‘fights’ (more like random excuses for people to beat the hell out of him without any resistance whatsoever) from antagonistic peers and upperclassmen. Even though he ‘brings it upon himself’ by dressing so feminine and such, he still hates it whenever he clarifies his gender and people bring up the line “Oh, I’m so sorry! I thought you were a girl!”. It got old a long time ago and does quite a number on his self-esteem each time he hears it.
He can be a bit of a worry-wart at times, especially over people. If there’s ever a project he think he won’t have done in time, he’ll worry and fuss himself to the brink of death over it and even go as far as depriving himself from sleep, food, and social interaction to get it done, which isn’t all that good, seeing as the boy nearly starves himself with how little he eats. He usually has to wear a tiny bit of foundation under his eyes, too, to even out the slight purplish discoloration from sleep deprivation underneath them. But, whenever he gets worried about a person, it’s worse. He’s the type that will pace all twitchy-like for hours if someone’s late and the first to dive for the phone to alert the police if he suspects something’s went wrong and they’re hurt/kidnapped/etc.
Bio: Aubrey was born in Paris, France two years after his older sister, Amelie. Whenever he was six, his mother and father divorced with his mother taking custody of both children. She moved back to America and started a job, at first struggling to support her children on her own. The two were sent to public school until Aubrey finished tenth grade without outstanding grades and test scores. He was noticed by several schools and after some deliberation—and financial help from Aubrey’s well-to-do father in France—he accepted the offer from Britewood School for Boys, having not only been offered permission to enroll but also a rather hefty scholarship.
Aubrey’s biggest talent would have to be his skill with the piano. Even if it was hard for his mother to make ends meet sometimes, both of her children were enrolled in locally given lessons ever since they were very young. Amelie dropped out of lessons whenever she was ten, but Aubrey had kept up with them, absolutely loving playing.
Academically, Aubrey is what most teacher’s would call an ‘ideal’ student. He’s good at retaining information and his notes are always clean and organized. His homework and projects are almost always turned in time. He can’t remember ever falling asleep in class and has never missed a day of school ever since he’d been out for two weeks in third grade and placed into the hospital for some type of illness he had had. The only thing he struggles with when it comes to class is English whenever his classes hit the poetry units. He just can’t do poetry.
