I tend to spend a lot of time as an observer, albiet not a very attentive one! xd
Still, I do occasionally observe something valuable. I'd like to talk about a woman from my workplace.
I don't know her, personally. She is an older woman, though I hesitate to guess her age. She's pretty skinny, and has a couple tattoos here and there. Her head is shaved aside from a mohawk and a single patch of hair that grows off center from the back of her head. The patch is a square, and from it she has a braid that reaches her knees. She wears sunglasses indoors, sometimes. Some would consider her, well, odd.
I see a different sort of oddity, however. This is a woman who has a smile and a nod for absolutely EVERY person she comes across. If you walk by her, you will receive a smile. Her smile is also in her eyes, when she isn't wearing glasses. There is no judgement there, nor sarcasm. Just a sincere smile.
I must admit, I am jealous of her. I am not so capable of offering a sincere smile to all I meet. Rather, I am not willing. I imagine anyone is capable of it. But I wonder how? It seems to come easily to this woman. My smiles are often rare, and strained.
She is a silent example to me of "love your neighbor".

Contemplatives
This journal will simply be a place where I talk about the various thoughts and ponderings that come into my mind. Well, at least the major ones.
