My Initiation to the temple.
I was only a small boy when I first arrived at the temple, some say that I wasn't old enough to remember what had happened during that time, but I remember it as if it was yesterday. My being a half demon, I suppose, was probably the reason I survived this. After I had been taken from my parents at the temple. The one I know as my 'mentor' walked with me into the temple through the massive steel doors. All I saw past those doors was complete darkness. I was frightened at first, but my mentor said that I would get used to the darkness soon. The moment I took my first step inside the temple walls, I felt that darkness surround me. Something was wrong, something was terribly wrong, and to prove my point, I heard the sound of a small boy screaming inside the darkness and the sound of a whip hitting bare flesh. One lash after another. My mentor then took a match out of his pocket, struck it against the granite wall, and then lit a candle to help light my way through the temple. My heart raced as if there was no tomorrow and I thought I was going to have a heart attack. After we had walked down several dark hallways, I looked down and noticed that the floor had ended and there wasn't a bridge. I looked up to my mentor with a frightened look in my eyes as he gave me a soft smile then blew out the candle. Once the candle went out, I felt my heart stop as I couldn't breathe. Complete darkness had surrounded me once again as I tried to scream, but my lungs wouldn't let me. I then felt a large hand on my back as I guess it was my mentor who had placed his hand there. I tried to run, but I couldn't move a muscle. Then I felt that hand push me full force and I tripped and fell into what I feel was a underground pit. Once my body hit the cold stone ground. I fell unconscious. I felt like I was out for several hours before I finally woke up to the sound of another child like myself hitting the stone floor. My eyes had adjusted to the darkness of the pit that I seemed to be in, and I could see everything clearly, even though there was no light whatsoever. I then looked over to the person who had landed beside me, wondering what or who he was....I still await for him to awaken.
