I did not expect David Cook to win American Idol. I mean, don't get me wrong, he certainly deserves it. He's a better vocalist and performer than David Archuleta, but given the history of the American public, you can't really count on them to pick the right person 100% of the time.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to his album. I just hope he gets to do the music he wants to do. I'd hate to see him in a situation where he gets forced into doing something totally not him, like I've seen happen with one or two past Idols.

Whatever, I'm sure it'll be good.
