One of my dogs was put to sleep this morning.
Denali, our Siberian husky, turned six in February.
She fell ill a couple of weeks ago, and just about completely stopped eating.
She got to the point of being unable to even stand, and her lungs filled with fluid.
I'm told that the vet told my parents that the jaundice showed whatever she had was in advanced stages.
Blood work would have been several hundred dollars, which we don't have, and they don't know if it even could have been fixed.
The odds were slim to none.
I won't go into any more details, other than to say that the vet figures she was poisoned (either by tainted dog food, or chewing on the grape vines in our backyard).
She was a good dog, and is already greatly missed.
