well, i rant sometimes, and its the only time i can speak my poorly formulated ideas in a way that gets the point across in a rather formulated manner! this one is kinda nice i think, and its a topic i wish people to ponder a bit... why do humans have to suffer the consequences before they realize they should change?

its sad how it takes a disaster for humans to seek change... like if they smoke, they wont stop until they already have lung cancer, they wont care about tornado safety or something until theyve already been through one and are lucky enough to survive, and wont start REALLY striving to help the ... -.- ... wow lost the word.... (climate, world, global warming, that stuff [*added=i remembered, i meant the word "environment"*]) until its already way destroyed. but no, they dont even stop there. they have to wait until it personally effects THEM. not the polar bears, not the ones hit by the increasing hurricanes and storms caused by a whacked out global climate, no. it has to effect THEM. maybe when the glaciers melt away and sea level rises to sweep away their summer home in florida, maybe then theyll think they should have changed. maybe when their son living in manhatten is drowned in his apartment as the mega-tsunami predicted to hit the upper east coast hits. maybe then. but of course, its too late. its always too late. people can never look ahead. they listen to advice for protecting the future, say "hm, yes. we should do that" but when it comes to actually doing something that would change their life a bit, they dont even consider changing. they dont connect the advice for buying a car instead of an suv to THEIR life. they just dont connect it. maybe now that gas prices are up, maybe now that having that big thing is personally affecting them (through the wallet), maybe now they'll buy a car when it comes to picking the next vehicle. but they wouldnt have considered it just to help the environment. oh no. this is more important. obviously. right? i NEED this big thing! sure, i care about the polar bears, but i dont REALLY believe me buying it will change it much. its only one. only one.... yet everyone says that.... a million people, all saying "only one..."

hm, its long! sweatdrop but i like it, and for once i dont feel like apologizing for wasting time or for being boring, no, this time im sticking to my guns and supporting this rant! even if only one person reads it, i think its really something that will make that person stop and think about it. because, what can YOU do to change? can you reuse yur plastic bag? can you spare a couple minutes to find a recycle bin to throw that bottle in? cause even the tiniest thing, even the $1 spent on a reusable shopping bag, anything can help. so think about it. and this time, actually think about it in terms of your life. anyone who reads this. i dont care who you are. i dont care (this is rare) if you really hate me for it. but please, just think about it. what can YOU, yes you, whoever you are that reads my journal (i guess even a loser like me gets people reading this), just think about what little thing YOU can do. k?

oops, i went on another mini-rant there... sweatdrop sorry... (i will apologize for that one, its more than you bargained for XD)

hm, im wondering how people will react to this sweatdrop ive been rather rude... but, i should start sticking up for myself a bit more, so... ill post this anyhow XP (though im still uneasy about being pushy...)
