This has become a recurrent phrase in my vocabulary. I often find myself thinking about everything too much, dissecting it to the barest state I can comprehend.. And I don't like what I see, most of the time.
Not entirely sure where I'm going with this just yet, but I feel a rant comming on.
Everywhere I turn my head these days.. I'm seeing just how warped and diluted the human race really is.
Our entire existance is futile, it's bewildering. To look at everything around us, and just wonder.. how? Microwaves, wireless internet, processed food, gene manipulation of anything that might suit our bennefit! including ourselves! It baffles me to no end. How are all these things possible, how many times did we have to violate scar and rape this planet that sustains us? To achieve these goals? to have things be this easy, yet so needlessly ******** COMPLICATED!
No I'm not some treehugging goddamn hippy. Though I have been known to hug the occasional tree. But I really don't like the way this looks.
Basically everything we introduce to our personal semi-permiable existance as an individual, concious being has been handled and manipulated by the human hand. Manipulated in one form or another. Warped twisted and raped of the former glory that it developed over millions of years through evolution and self perservation, born only of the planet and the generations that preceeded. Living and existing in a cycle that has been building and growing and changing, evolving.
An entire system of interations existing and working in unison, towards a common goal of survival, bearing no resentment toward the prey that was a little too slow, feeling no regret for the sweet strawberry that would never bear it's seeds to the earth. Everything in moderation. If a population grew too large one year, devoured their entire food supply the next, only the fittest would survive the following seasons. We've been illuding this rule of existence for far too long now. Our reach knows no bounds, as far as we're concerned.
How long until we reach and what we want is no longer there? How much silicon is there really left in that valley? (3/4 of the earth crust..?) An essential element to daily life, mined constantly, to sustain an ever growing population. Never again able to return to it's natural state, mutated and separated from the other elements that it bonded with over millions of years, manipulated only by the heat of whatever initial divine spark created all of this and the other elements around it.
Are oil prices rising mainly because it's taking more effort to reach it? not just because of all this human element bullshit, but because it's actually visibly less common? How long until we start to see the same result with other major raw materials? Chaos thoery anyone?
I know this has all been asked before. I'm asking again, well aware I won't get an answer, at least not a smart assed one. But for the sake of discussion, have you ever really thought about the state of human affairs, in relation to our world, our existance. Just how ******** up things really are and how bad they're going to get in the not so distant future?
Discuss? The human race (towards..?) Consumerism The fact that there really is no way out Any thoughts you may have about aforementioned topics or anything relating or pertaining to, the general warped values of our culture?
