"I wish Id stop crying."
Were the words I texted him as the tears slid down my face
Our dearest Carrie, had passed away the night before.
"Me too, baby, me too."
I knew he'd been crying too. We all had been.
"It's not right. None of this is. I miss her She always made me laugh."
Carrie, I miss you, why'd you leave us?
"I know babe."
He couldn't find the right words to cheer me up and it only made me feel worse.
"She's supposed to be here, laughing and smiling."
Her smiling face came to mind and my tears flowed now, even stronger.
His next response made my stomach drop and my heart break.
"God needed another angel. I'm gonna try to sleep. Goodnight, love.
Thank you for everything."
He was exhausted so I let him be.
I'm sure he thanked God for every moment I was there.
We'll always miss her.
So tonight we pray for her.
Rest in peace, dear, we miss you.
