The Akatsuki Journal....Beware~
Link and Midna
Chapter 19
~Chaos at Zora's Domain~

Link and Midna had finally made it to Zora's Domain, slouching, for their backs and bottoms were aching from riding their horses for so long.
"Hey, Prince Ralis! We just came to visit since we haven't been here for so long and--"
Midna shoved a hand on top of his mouth.
"Link, look around us."
They both had their backs against each other as they scanned all of the Zoras that had ended up surrounding them. Midna and Link then darted their eyes towards Prince Ralis.
"What is the meaning of this, Prince Ralis?!" Link tried his hardest to not lose his temper incase he was mistaken. Prince Ralis sat quietly on his throne, and just when he was about to order the guards to kill them, his lips sealed shut all of the sudden.
"I--I can't do it.... I can't do it..."
Link got up from his fighting position and stared at him.
"...Who made you do this?" He asked quietly.
Ralis's lips parted but then Midna butted in again.
"Link, something is not right."
"Oh, gee, you think?" Link rolled his eyes.
"No... I mean..."
She then flung her hand out as quickly as possible and caught a dagger inches away from Ralis's throat.
Link looked up to see a cloaked-headed figure on the platue at the top of the throne room next to Prince Ralis.
-Who are they...?- Link thought to himself, squinting his eyes at the mysterious cloak-girl.
She looked up at Link and answered him as if she could read his thoughts.
"Who am I? Who am I? I am your worst nightmare!"
That voice.... it was so familiar....
Link grabbed his clawshot to get up there and Midna used her powers of twilight and was able to get up there herself, and she watched as he ran as fast as his legs could carry him and stunned her with his sheild, making a clashing sound echo in the room. Prince Ralis watched them with horror in his eyes.
He was successful in getting her almost completely stunned and she fell to the ground but Link caught her in an arm-hold. When she opened her eyes, she struggled to break free from his grasp, but he smirked, knowing what he was doing... or so he thought. But she grabbed a spare dagger and ended up stabbing Link in the knee. Fresh blood bleeded out violently as Link screamed in pure agony. The pain... oh, the pain... it was the worst feeling you could get. It felt worse than breaking your bones. This dagger was right THROUGH the knee cap!
Link let his grip on her loose to grab his bleeding leg. The cloak girl, noticing that Link's guard was down, pushed him harshly off of the platue.
"MIDNA!"
Midna watched in complete horror as she realized that her lover was falling and slowly dying. She ran to him to catch him but he soon hit his head on the ground head-first and was knocked out cold.
The girl under the cloak laughed a lullaby-like laugh. One that could be so recognizable, but the girl just didn't seem to come to Midna's head.
"One down, one to go!"
Peeved and in absolute fury, Midna ran up to her and trapped her in a field of dark and negative energy.
"Now, before I end up killing you, let's see who you REALLY are. Let's see what killer could be hiding under there!"
She pulls off the hood of the woman and what she saw made her eyes buldge as she gasped.

Princess Zelda.

"Z-Zelda.... h-how could...I thought you were... my... my best... best friend..." Midna stuttered.
"Not anymore."
"But.... but why?"
"Life isn't always fair, Midna. Get used to it."
Midna was so stunned, she let Zelda get away, unfortunately. When she was gone, Midna dropped to her knees. How could she? She was her best friend forever.... they made a promise as children so many years ago that they would never become enemies. Ever. Apparently, Zelda broke that promise.

Midna snapped out of her thoughts when she remembered Link. She panted heavily as she ran to him and brought him back to Ordon, angry thoughts spinning through her head like crazy.
"I can't dwell on her all the time... I have to forget about her. Right now, Link needs me more than ever." She sighed.
Everyone stood by Link's bedside, most of them in tears, especially her and Ilia. When they realized that Link may never wake up, they all were about to walk away more sad than ever.
"Link.... he... he won't wake up... he's gone."
Everyone did walk away after a long moment of grief until they heard a small grunt.
"IT'S LINK! Everyone, come back!" Ilia cried cheerfully. Everyone rushed back toward the bed, watching Link slowly sit up and Midna cried tears of happiness as she hugged him tightly, never wanting to let go. But she realized that Link was not hugging her back like he used to.
"What are you doing?! Get off of me! Gosh, I don't even know you people!" Link said angrily as he pushed her off of him.
"Wha..? Link, it's me! Midna!" She cried.
"I told you, I don't know you! But... nice to meet you, Midna." He glared at her.
Ilia had her hand covering her mouth as tears poured down her face and she whispered in Midna's ear, "he can't remember a thing!"
