So are we friends?
So, one of my best friends was just gone to Australia for three weeks. She just got back yesterday night. I guess it must have been a cool experience for her, but I wouldn't know because she HASN'T TALKED TO ME SINCE SHE GOT BACK!!! I am just a litte bit peeved right now.
I always like to tell people what a great friend this girl is, but sometimes she really bugs me.
For instance:
Me: "Ooh. That looks good. Can I have a bite?"
Jenna: "Oh, Rachel. You know in 20 years at our class reunion I'll be as skinny as a model and you will be morbidly obese."
Me:"..."
Jenna: "Maybe you should eat healthier."
Me: "And maybe when you're living in France I'll come visit you. If they have a plane big enough. Maybe they can fit me in baggage."
See what I mean?
The problem is, she says stuff like that all the time and I know she means well. She actually says stuff like that to motivate me to be a better person. Not such a horrible intention.
Then she throws in a reminder that, as important as she is to me, I am not so important to her.
See, she has been friends with these two other girls and this guy since middle school and while I have been pretty well aquainted with her for a while, we've only been good friends for a little over a year. They are her important friends. Right now I'm sure she's chatting them up and not even thinking that I might have missed her just as much as them.
Oh well. There's always college to make great friends, right?
