My jaw dropped open as I took in the scene before me. There were animals, no wait, humans with animal features! Demons? Possibly. Best find out.
"Awright, you're trespassing. Anyone care to fill me in?"
I glanced to my left and saw Haritsuki with her arms around a fox like demon's neck and a cat like demon's neck. Canaidea was in a strange stance. Her right leg was locked out, pinning a raccon like demon to the wall and had her other leg and kendo sword aimed at a badger demon. Sprawled out on the rug was an otter demon and frozen in place was a wolf demon.
Lowering my tsuki nari yari, I spoke, "Do you wish to fight us, or is someone else making you?"
He sat down. He stretched back then turned toward Hari.
"Hey. Let 'em go. We're just seeing who lives here. That's all."
Hari and Can stayed put. There was movement and the otter demon sat up slowly.
"You see that we have demon like features but we look human. That is because we are half demons."
"Why are you telling us this?" Hari questioned.
"Because," he smiled, "we need your help."
He sat with his legs crossed and his arms in his lap, just like the wolf demon.
"My name is Yasu. I am a half otter demon." He then motioned towards the others.
The wolf demon sighed and began. "I'm also a half demon. Half wolf to be exact. I'm Haruki. The half badger over there is Kaito. Kaito! Let her know you're not going to hurt her."
The badger just ran his hand through his hair. Sighing he glanced up at the wooden sword and began to sit up.
"Yes, I am Kaito. As Wolfie over there told you, I'm a half badger demon. Hence why i have black and white hair. The wooden sword, would you mind not shoving it in my face?"
Can sighed. She kept her right leg locked on the raccoon demon though.
Kaito stood. "What is your name?"
"Canaidea!" she shook her head then kicked off the raccoon demon and jumped in front of me.
"This here is..."
"I'm Chiharu. And that is..."
"Haritsuki. We all have nicknames however. I'm Hari. Canaidea is Can. And Chiharu is Chi."
The raccoon demon dropped to the floor, gasping for breath.
"Quite a fighter we've got here, eh Kaito? I'm Isamu, a half raccoon demon."
He and Isamu joined Kaito and Haruki on the rug. I turned to Hari and spoke slowly.
"I trust them. They need our help. We can't help them if you're choking them."
She rolled her eyes and released them, then joined us.
"Thank you shrine maiden. Everyone else has introduced themselves. I mine as well. My name is Tsukiko. I am a half fox demon. My friend here is..."
"I can say my own name fine Tsuki. I'm half cat and one of the leaders of the village. In fact we all are. I am Megumi."
Can bent and sat down, scooting closer to the group. I smiled and sat next to her. Hari then sat right next to Kaito.
"You've got awesome hair." she said and quickly looked down.
After an akward silence we finally just made a circle.
"Megumi, you said that you all were leaders of the village. What village? There isn't one anywhere near here."
"That's is where you're wrong."
I turned toward the voice. The front door was open.
And in the light a teenage boy was grinning.
