just watch me.
day... three?
hello! so today was day 3 of the fair, I believe... anyways it started at 4 am, going early to wash the cattle for showing, and then karen and lonnie showed their calves. Karen actually got into the state fair lineup (dead last though- but hey at least she made it that far), but by that time (after the main judging) I was in the car taking a nap. I slept a bit, then had to wake up again and do gate admissions from noon to three (actually really boring) and while i was doing that I filled out the paperwork for the 4-H encampment at the state fair. ^^ this will be the first time I'll have used the encampment and have stayed overnight at the state fair... should be fun!! ^^

but the horrible part (came close to crying when I discovered this... or killing someone...) is that it overlaps with school open house. crying and the minute we told dad about open house, he said that we were going to do the encampment. no questions asked. crying so this year will be the first year that we DON'T go to open house... *swears lustily* mom keeps saying that she'll go to the classrooms and get our stuff for us, but I can't trust her to relay every single detail of every single thing that happens!!! crying she's already proved to be untrustworthy (several occasions) with such matters, so I'm thinking that if she goes for the schedule and crap, I'll (illegally) use my farmers' permit to drive Karen and I to the high school sometime and figure out what the heck is going on... crying and all this would be prevented if I didn't have to do the encampment... stare baka.

speaking of the project i'm taking (lol reserve champion in flower gardening- was grand champion for a while but turns out the judge got all confused with the project categories... rolleyes )

ok back on track... back to the day... anyways so after I was done with admissions I proceeded to head up to the main part of the fair (the midway, etc.) and ran into April Damhof having issues setting up a Farm Bureau thing. it looked like she needed a few tables and a source of electricity, neither of which she had. she didn't know what to do with the other stuff, so I was trying to help her figure out what to do... she made a few calls, and then eventually asked me if I could keep an eye on her kids (Eva and Fred (fred's quiet... eva's talkative...). so they and I (Eva is the oldest at 7... her bro's like 4 or 5 or something...) walked down the midway and looked at which games eva wanted to play with her $2. She eventually used that up on a dart game and she didn't have enough so I had the dude break my $20 bill... after that (she won a stuffed dog/puppy thinger...) we went to another game, where I proceeded to spend the remaining $15 buying them balls to do the game. it paid off good though- Eva got another stuffed animal (a panda this time), and Fred got a tiny plastic gun (that shoots like foam pellets or something) and a plastic bow and arrow. ^^ I was happy that they had fun getting the prizes... spent all my money on them, but I don't care... rolleyes so then after that we wandered to the FFA area, then we looked at the draft horses and it started to rain. so we went to the other barns and eventually got to the cattle barn, where I met up with mom (and eva got cow crap on her foot so I had to bring her to the washing place and clean her up) and together we brought eva and fred back to april, and she decided to call it quits for the day. Eva kept dragging me to the ticket booth (she REALLY wanted to go on some rides), but I held back because her mom didn't want her going on any rides (she doesn't trust the rides, or the people that run them either.... stare ) and then they left... ^^ then a little later my aunt came by the cattle barn, and told mom and I that she took the job as head librarian at the willmar public library!!! biggrin she doesn't start officially until september... but anyways she also told mom that she just found out that she has an advanced stage of cancer in her lungs... crying hopefully it'll all turn out ok...

so after that Cory picked me up from the back gate, and together at church we probably spent 2 or 3 hours trying to make the RMH video work... at one point early on we had got it to go on the screen from the laptop, but it didn't have sound... O.o so then we fiddled with some other things some more, and eventually ended up calling his wife Stacey to bring a blank DVD for us to burn the movie to... that worked, but it screwed up a crapload of stuff like the transitions and the fonts and some timing and stuff... >.< aw heck. its done, and I have the original... haha... >=]

so yeah... now we're home... tomorrow I have to go in early tomorrow to help the 4-h ambassadors at the foodstand (thankfully only for an hour) at 6:45, then from 10 to 1 i have to help them with something with little twerps in the park... (?) O.o oh well. we'll figure it out tomorrow... ^^

*waves* bye bye 'til next time~
