SO, i've seen the Jigoku Shoujo DVDs in the Fan Fare in Kalamazoo before, and i've even picked them up before and looked at them because they looked so interesting. last night i was bored and wanted to watch something spooky (after just watching the last 3 episodes of Magical Shopping Arcade Abenobashi :3), and i came across Jigoku Shoujo (Hell Girl) on accident, so now i'm going to rant about it. the artwork is so beautiful, it makes you want to watch the anime just by looking at a picture of one of the characters. the storyline is amazing and creepy, even though at times it seems a bit repetitive. it keeps your interest, i must say. i watched like 4 or 5 hours of it last night. my eyes felt like they were about to fall out of my head. i'm truley jealous of whoever could produce such beautiful work. eek it has made it's way into the top 3 on my favorite anime list.
PRESENTING...
Angol's Greatest Anime List of All Time: 1. Serial Experiments Lain (will always be No.1) 2. Jigoku Shoujo (Hell Girl) 3. Perfect Blue/Paprika/Paranoia Agent (all made by Satoshi Kon, so they count as one scream )
i like the surrealistic/horror stuff. the eerier the better. (is eerier even a word?? sweatdrop ) if somebody knows some other good ones, tell me. so. WATCH JIGOKU SHOUJO. it's amazing, i promise. :3
on another note... i should probably get my lazy butt into the shower because i have a certian boyfriend's birthday presents to shop for. (his birthday is tomorrow gonk ) i know exactally what i'm geting him. it had better be at the store when i get there, and if we can't hang out today he'd better not watch Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya with out me. or else. scream
