I have been looking for a job for who-knows how long. I had almost given up hope. Especially since my condition, an acute allergy to the sun, prevents me from spending prolonged periods of time outdoors. Looking for a job the traditional way proved to be problematic. I had been applying to job after job online hoping some or one would call back. I have almost been unemployed for 2 years. That is a long, frustrating, time.
After receiving and email about a strong likely position for me at a company, that I believed to be security, I decided to apply and check it out. Within the week I got a call back with them telling me that I was one of their top candidates. At first I was suspicious and accepted the interview date and went along with it all with not too high hopes. I prepared all that I could for a week until the day came and I was off.
Upon arriving, I learned that it was an expanding marketing agency and company that works for promoting non-profitable organizations and because they are expanding, they are in need of new managers. This interview was an initial interview to setup a meet and greet. It went very well. The best news happened to be that they called back, the same day, to reschedule another interview that is more direct and specific relating to the work, workplace and conditions of what the company does and what I will be doing.
EXCELLENT! It is not at all what I expected, but it seems like I made a lucky break and found something better. This company will be providing my paid management training. Since they are expanding and branching outwards, they are opening in new location and will be needing people with good interpersonal skills as well as a good and quick ability to learn. I am sure I fit the bill.
It is marketing, not security. It is all good since I have been told that my strongest points may be in the fields of Retail, Marketing and/or Telemarketing. I hope the next interview goes just as well, if not better.
