So.

I got the job. biggrin

I'm gonna be shooting for 35 hours a week, so, I'll REALLY be able to afford things for the meet up in October.

I'm excited. whee

I can't wait. I've got ideas on things we can do. Like, not in the second-post-things we can do. surprised Like, go to Starship. Have a picnic at Westview. Underground Atlanta. Drive through Peachtree City blasting "Golf Cart Thugs" because that'd be hilarious. xd

We can actually use Marta for most of the time we're down here, now that I'm thinking about it. The Northsouth line goes all the way from Doraville (which is right next to Norcross) to the Airport. surprised And the closest bus station (to me) is 5 miles away (but in the wrong direction. >( ).

Actually, right now, I'm trying to see what station I'd have to go to to get Jillard and Carrie. surprised I like Marta. There's a pleasant lack of hobo pee. But from the Amtrak station to the Marta rail station, it's 2/3rds of a mile. Normally, I'd say "lets stroll" but the luggage is like, not good for a long walk. xp

A visitor's pass for a Friday-Sunday is $9 and good for the rails and busses.

I do realize I know where the trainstation is now, sorta. Well. I know the area. It's not bad. The High Museum of Art and the Center for Puppetry Arts is around there. Peidmont Park. Why didn't they just say "Arts Center" on the Amtrak website? That would've just saved me the last 30 minutes... xp

The only thing, I will confess, that I actually don't like about Atlanta, as in, the city itself, is the traffic. It's legendary for being horrible. It's apparently amazing, with our 8 lane highways and speed minimum signs... But really, the traffic defies physics (sucks AND blows, lolz). I don't truely want people who've never driven in this sorta hell to drive in it. ._.

What I might just do, is, early Friday morning (not tomorrow, the Friday of the meet up), drive up to the Doraville trainstation, park, take the train down to the Amtrak station and meet up with Carrie and Jill. Then, if there's someone who actually does fly down (pleasepleaseplease), ride down to the airport, then ride back up on the northbound, get in ze car with everyone in tow and go to the hotel. 3nodding

Should be fun if I don't get lost. :D Dad used to work around there, I'll see if he knows anything about the busses and shtuff. P:,
