Ok, this is mainly dedicated to my friend who was recently bullied. Firstly my story on how I was bullied:
All the names are shortened.
Once upon a time, there lived a girl called CA (a.k.a. me!!!) She had a best friend (M) and thought everything was fine and they were going to live happily ever after. BUT.....
Another girl (A) joined their group. As quick as anything, M tried everything to get CA out of her group as she preferred A. Eventually CA went away and made new friends (including a girl named Lizzie) who were really nice to her. HOWEVER...
M apologized and made up with her. CA let her and A into her new group...then...M started to bag her and took away her new friends and soon CA was alone again. She also weeped a lot, thinking that it was her fault M hated her. However, she soon realised (with the help of her mom) that M didn't even CARE about her feelings. She continued with the new friends she had made but was tormented until she moved schools and went to a new school where she made WONDERFUL new friends and (so far) lived happily ever after.
OK, end of the fairytale so let's get back to reality. It doesn't always end like that. I was just lucky my new friends boosted me and I actually moved schools (just because I felt like it, not because I was bullied - also my old school was reallllllllyyyyyyyy BAD!!!). Pointers for victims:
- don't blame yourself, it is most likely not your fault
- when they beat you down, use snide comments, don't go and KILL them
- Ignore them when possible
- when you think you are really bad, think that they are even WORSE since they have stomped to the level of bullying.
- The best way to recover is to make new friends...
For friends of victims:
- Encourage them and help them make new friends
- Boost their self-esteem
- Make snide comments to the bully
- DO NOT UNDER ANY CONDITIONS, BEAT UP THE GIRL!!!
