Yeah, I know, it really isn't that great but I've been working on a story and just recently has my friend told me he'd like to read it. So I've decided to give all of my friends and everyone on Gaia an exclusive preview of A Cry in the Night..my story in the works.
A Cry In The Night -----------------------
1 ----- The only thing to be heard for miles was the sound of crickets chirping and the sound of a slight breeze. It was the middle of summer so there wasn't much wind but plenty of rain. Nae stepped onto the balcony of her 2 story cottage and went to take a breath of fresh air, it was hot and sticky but she embraced it none the less. It was night but it still hadn't cooled down any from the morning blaze. She'd be working hard all day, between school and a job she never had time for herself or anyone else for that matter. She leaned hopelessly over the guard rail and sighed. "I just want something new.." Her sliver hair was french braided with a big purple ribbon at the bottom. Nae looked about 15 but was 19. She was tall, about 5'0, weighed 125lbs, and had nice tan. Her hair was as silver as the moon and flowed down her back like silk. Her eyes were turqoise with a touch of grey making it look as though she was always misty eyed. Nae did exellent in school, always making A's, her professors loved her. She worked 2 jobs, at night she worked at the local bar and during the day she was a waitress at Apollo Inn. She made enough money to live in a little cottage near the end of town and keep food on the table. Her life was plain, simple and boring and although she longed to change it she knew that trying was inevitable. Nae laid her head on the cool metal bars of the balcony and begin to sing quietly to herself. "A dream is a wish your heart makes...when your fast asleep. In dreams you will lose your heartaches, whatever you wish for you keep..." She stopped midsong when she heard the alarm on the stove start beeping. "Work." She grumbled pulling a black shirt from off the table and yanking it over her head. Nae quickly unbraided her hair and let it spill over her shoulders. Raking her fingers through her metalic waterfall of hair, she grabbed some change off the counter and hopped into her car that she had inherited from her grandmother. When Nae turned the key in the ignition, it roared to life.
Larissa was spectaular at night, the fountians were lit up with different coloured lights and gushing out like guisers. Nae licked her lips nervously as she parked in front of the bar. She didn't think anyone in Larissa would take her car so she didn't bother to lock it. She could hear the music flowing through the doors and windows of Apollo Inn. Nae pushed the doors open and strutted in, she was prepared for the many wolf whistles she was going to get when she came it. "Yia sou, koritsi!" Nae turned in the direction of the call and she saw a tall, muscular man, with his shirt torn open, and sweat dripping down his biceps. His eyes look like steel and his hair was that of a chestnut. "Ti?" She asked under her breath as she lift a tray from the table to serve him with. "Pusse lene, koritsi?" She sighed and replied "Nae." She turned away from him, not wanting to be bothered by him anymore when there were paying customers fussing for beers and wine. "Stamato, me lene Sanoshi." She grunted and continued walking, she didn't ask his name and didn't too much care what it was anyways. Nae walked up to another waitress and sighed. " piganio boitho ton." She'd meant to say please at the end but was too exasperated to care. The band played another song, one more upbeat and lively, Nae couldn't help but sway in rythm. She gave a gentleman a refil on beer and when she turned around Sanoshi was standing behind her. Nae yelped in surprised then furrowed her brow when she saw who was behind her. "Ti?" She crossed her arms over her chest and stared into his eyes, waiting for him to move. "Stop being so uptight, meli, dance with me." He shot her a quick smirk and it felt as though she had been striken by lightening. "Fyge." Nae tried to sidestep past him but he kept blocking her way. "Please, just one dance?" His eyes looked sincere when he asked her that time and she felt as though she were looking into the eyes of a puppy. "Fyge." She said again. Sanoshi took the tray from her hands and sat it on the table behind her. "It's just a dance, I'm not asking to sleep with you." He smirked again, and she shot him an evil glare. "I'm sure you were considering it though." "Ego eimai." He laughed and pulled her into his arms. "Well the answer is no." Nae tried to push away but Sanoshi had wrapped her arms around his waist and began to sway with her slowly. "See, no harm done." "The answer is still no." "Don't worry glyka, your not my type anyways." "Then why ask to dance?" "You seemed tense." Out of frustration, Nae pulled away from him and grabbed her tray. " I have work to do." She stalked away feeling a little bit broken for reasons she didn't even know why. "I don't like him, he's a stupid, pompus, jerk!" Unknowingly she slammed the tray on the table and it snapped in 2. Lily who had been working at Apollo inn much longer than Nae came up and began stroking her hair. "It's okay glyka, everyone falls for him. He's a lady charmer." She nodded as if she knew what she was talking about. "He comes in and never orders anything, just sits and watches." Lily pulled aimlessly at the short, beige mini skirt she had worn with her black top. She was trying to win Sanoshi's heart herself. "Try not to think about him, he's not worth your time." She laughed to herself and walked away, leaving Nae crushed at the bar.
