Show Me the Clouds
Upon the grass
My love and I lay
Our fingers entwined
Together we'll stay
"I love you." he says
"And I, you." I repeat.
As he rolls over sideways
Our lips they will meet
"The clouds," I point out,
"-are as soft as can be."
"And that one," he says,
"-looks just like you and me."
I follow his finger
Where he points in the air
But I don't see it really
It just isn't there
"I'm sorry." I tell him.
"I don't see what you mean."
"Concentrate," he corrects,
"-And turn this way like me."
I follow his lead
Every move that he makes
Careful of course
Not to make a mistake.
Then as if by magic
A picture appears
So crystal and clear
That I'm almost in tears
Two hearts intertwined
With a bow 'round the two
A dove in the background
Contrasting the blue
A rainbow is distant
Still refulgent though being
The dove flies around it
While so gaily singing
"My heart," says my love,
"-is as warm as can be."
"Without you, I fear"
-that I couldn't be me."
"No more facade." he says
"No more pretending."
"I really am looking
for THE perfect ending."
