Wallowing in Thought
Yea, so I had to write this poem for my English class. My teacher wanted everyone to personify America how it is today using a poem by Phillis Wheatley as our example. I did it in ten minutes the night it was due (because I wasn't at school that day, I got an entire extra night. ^^) and printed it two days later to turn in. Thought I'd post it here and let others look at it.

America – My Man

I look for four things in a man;
Strength and power,
Kindness, a fair hand.
He has golden fair hair
Like wheat fields and deserts.
He uses his strength like Robin Hood,
Defending those who
Can’t defend themselves.
He fights for freedom
And stands firm,
Sure in his decisions at all times.
And who is this man I look for?
America – his name
Liberty – his game.

I don't think my English teacher will really like it - he doesn't like cliches. *shrugs* Who cares?
