I'm not fond of them. Making a new character and then thrusting them out into an unfamiliar world where they must then forge a path according to the designers and all the quests are really, utterly boring. No thanks.
However, zOMG has a set storyline and you aren't separated by classes or races. You just take your little character that you've probably had quite a while and go kill things. Why is zOMG different than all the other MMOs? It has all the basic characteristics of most every other MMO.
I'm not quite sure, but I suspect it has something to do with already having characters that we're attached to.
Clever, Gaia Online, very clever. ninja

I also like the fact that it's very... community based. What I mean is, I'm saving people and healing them, finishing quests I can't do very well JUST by healing random fighters who so happen to be targeting the same enemies I need to defeat, and I'm not even in the same party as them.
Then when you actually do get into a crew you benefit even more.
I also LOVE how you're not shoved into one job for your lifetime, longing for updated abilities far off. And you even get stronger just by playing? By standing near people?!
And lastly, no need to download anything.
... Hm. zOMG's definately not perfect. But it's better than I thought. 3nodding
