The Dreamer Ch.1 The Cliffside Village
I stood on cliff that overlooked a small village, whose houses looked more like rural cottages during the medieval ages. Odd and picturesque were the cottages, but there were no people to be seen coming in or out of them. The cliff wasn’t that high from the village, maybe 7 or 8 feet from the green grassy ground.
I suddenly heard wind chime sounds fill the air around me, a very slight breeze tugged at the back of my hoodie. It was a fairly pleasant morning with the sun, bright and cheerful, overhead. It and the musical wind chimes kept me company on this lonely day, but I Also had the breeze to keep me company Too.
I thought to myself, Its not even 9 yet, so like maybe the people who live in those houses down below have a thing for sleepin’ in late
Nope, I argued, people who would like live in those kinda houses must be like farmers so they should’ve been up by now.
“Damn! Arguing with myself is like pointless.” I thought out loud. I fell silent, again, and sat down to really think hard about where I was and how the hell I got there. The grass and weeds were still damp from the dew that hadn’t evaporated yet; the pasture felt cooling against my bare legs. I noticed then I was only wearing my pajama shorts and a hoodie. The hoodie was the only thing that kept me from showing my bra to the world.
“Hunh, looks like the only thing I’m wearin’ is my pajamas.” I said. I got up immediately when I noticed that my large boobs were making cleavage as I hunched my back downward.
I still couldn’t figure out though , why I was were and now that I thought about it, why there weren’t any people. As if my thoughts had been read by some superficial being, out of nowhere people walked out of their houses and going about their day.
“Woah!” I whispered as I watched to my own astonishment at what just happened. Somebody saw me up on the cliff, and began pointing at me while saying something to someone else. Eventually all the people down there were pointing to me and verbalizing things to each other.
“HI THERE!” I called to the people. All of them stopped doing their thing and just stared at me. They were all eerily silent suddenly.
“WHAT’S WRONG, CAT’S GOT YOUR TONGUE?!?” Nothing, not even a murmur from them. I plainly asked without yelling out, “What?”
“WHAT ARE YOU?!?” yelled a rather large woman. Another person screamed, “WHY ARE YOU HERE DEMON!!”, while another shrieked, “DON’T HURT US!” I watched them all shrieking their heads off over me so I shouted, “SHUT UP! SHUT UP!” They all fell silent so then I said, “My name is Courtney Maize and I come from Chicago. Do any of you like know what the hell is the name for this place?”
Then unexpectedly pitchforks and torches fell from the sky, and the villagers gave me death glares.
“Kill the demon!” someone yelled, and the villagers became an angry mob. They ran to both sides of the cliff and up the hill.
“Oh s**t!” I muttered and swiftly took off running into the pasture. I could hear their yells behind me, and as I glanced from the side of my eyes I saw them charging after me.
From the pasture I come upon a forest made up of sequoias, in which I quickly scampered into. The sun was suddenly blinded by the gargantuan trees and their long stretching canopies; I knew that I could easily lose that angry mob if I hid in the protruding roots of one of the sequoias.
Then, it suddenly hit me as to were I was, but that didn’t matter now as I had to focus on finding a hiding place away from that demon crazed mob. As I ran, I was on full alert for when I glanced into the distance on my right, I saw a ghostly dark grey figure running along with me.
“Norman” I whispered without me even realizing it.
I ignored the ghostly thing following me so kept dodging around football field wide trunks, until I stopped. I stood before a tree with a small animal sized hole, a hole big enough for a slim and slender girl to fit into.
Before I crawled into the hole I took off my hoodie and threw it in there, exposing my tanned back and my lacey midnight black and scarlet bra. I then crawled in the hole, put my hoodie back on, and waited for the mob to dash past the tree.
Then I woke up.
