I started Gaia on Dec 31, 2007. My "little" sister is the one who got me hooked. She was visiting us for Christmas and her birthday.(Jan 4th) And I saw her playing this thing where she was helping orphans. I thought it looked interesting. So she helped me join. I was hooked almost immediately. I managed to finish that event. I was on almost non stop for the first week. Then I started slowing down. But was still on almost all the time. I began finding the new things to buy and wear. Then I discoverred the market and forums. After awhile it was like my little escape. Whenever I was having a bad day or anything I would come to Gaia, and just do stuff here. I made some really wonderful friends here. And realized just how mean some people can be. And petty. The greatest people so far were Ace_smith01, and Aileeya and her children, Punkysoul, and a few others that welcomed me into their guilds and such. I recruited several other people. And we all had a lot of fun here. I was making tons of pregress and had begun collecting certain things. Then one day the unthinkable had happened! My daughter got hacked. She got a PM saying she had been reported and she needed to go to this place to fill in her info. She clicked on it and it said OOOOPs youve been logged out, please log back in. She did and BOOM. She lost Everything. Well she didnt know what had happened for about 2 days. Then she told me and I went in and checked and they had taken all she had. She was in tears. So we filed a report and she started using her mule. Then about 5 days later she was banned for "Password Phishing". She didnt even know what that was! (to be honest I wasnt sure either) But we filed another report for wrongful banning. Including the fact that we had already filed a report for hacking and that it was the hackers that had used her friends list to "Phish". And we had already contacted ALLher friends and told them what had happened and to change their passwords if they fell for it. We were told they would look into it.
Then when I starting asking around I finally got someone to check on the status then about 2 days later we were all banned. They had "evidence" that I had traded off site for Gaia Gold. Which I had not. What thay were basing this on was the fact that I had a very expensive item that had been given to my sister as a graduation gift. She didnt want them but knew that I had been wating them. So She gave them to me. But they Perm banned all the accounts in this house. I am a firm believer that is all part of the market economy here. They ban a few accounts here and there for things that cant be proven other wise and the things they had are locked in an account forever. No buying or sellling those items. So it means less of them available. I know people have given and gotten gifts here before. Thats what the charities do all the time. I couldnt prove other wise so they banned me and everyone in this house. You tell me. I left for awhile. I came back only with the intention of reconecting with some friends and playing Zomg. But I am slowly getting sucked back in. To be Continued.
