Okay then. I did warn you.
The clock reads 5:00am. The room is small and dark, figures of a desk, a TV, and fish tank can be seen by what light peeks out of her small basement window. On the other side of the room, a small figure can be seen under the black and red comforter. Short, grey hair can be seen lying softly on the pillow. The blanket goes up and down with the girl’s unsteady breathing. Her eyes are whirling about under her eye lids. She’s either having a great dream with amazing detail. Or a nightmare.
The alarm clock rings at 5:05am, a slender hand slams it off for another five minutes. Drew throws the cover off her face, her eyes open but drowsy. She looks about her room, nothing has changed overnight. She puts a hand on her nightstand, moving it around to find the remote. She finds it and flicks on her TV, pushes channel 4. The weather is hot out with a slight chance of rain. She changes the channel to MTV now. Music videos of artist Drew doesn’t know play loudly with flashy lights on here TV screen. She turns it down.
Her alarm clock blares again. She hits it and continues watching.
Her room resembles a movie theater, with its bright screen, surrounded by darkness with a hint of light coming from some small source. She reaches for a snack she left on her nightstand, adding to the affect. She snaps the poptart in half, nibbling on the smaller half as an artist Drew does know pops onto the screen.
Nine inch nails is playing one of Drew’s favorite songs, ‘The hand that feeds’. She smiles, swallowing the remainder of her poptart. She sings along, quietly so no one can hear. The beat of the song just felt great, it was low and technologic in a way. Trent Reznor had an amazing voice that makes any fan weak at the knees.
The alarm clock rings again, Drew turns it off.
She finally gets out of bed and slips on her chewed bunny slipper, complements of the dog. She leaves the TV on as she heads up the stairs to take her shower.
She walks sleepily toward the stairs nearly missing a head on collision with the work out equipment that her brother bought, but never used. She trudged up the stairs loudly, hoping to wake up someone, her dog. As if on command, her dog Sami comes galloping toward her with a goofy, slobbery smile on her face.
Drew scratched behind Sami’s’ ear, “Hey girl, sleep well?” she asked.
Sami never slept with Drew anymore, she was to big now. When Sami was a puppy, Drew loved nothing more than to cuddle up with her dog at night, snuggling her like a stuffed animal. But Sami had grown so big; she could no longer fit on Drew’s bed. So she slept up stairs with Drew’s mother, Jean.
Sami looked up at Drew with goofy brown eyes and licked Drew’s face. A think mask of slobber covered Drew’s face now. Drew laughed quietly at wiped most of it off.
“Be a good girl while I take me shower,” Drew said, “Stay.”

Drew ran down the stairs, having spent too much time in the shower. She needed to do so many things before she got to school. The only good thing was that she drove to school now rather then took the bus.
Drew combed out her hair and picked out her clothes for the day. She picked a red under shirt, a black tank top, her black hoodie, and baggy blue jeans.
She grabbed her hair dryer and pointed it to her head, blowing hot air directly to her face.
The TV was playing some rap song Drew couldn’t name.
