Tears of Blood (Ch.11)
Tears of Blood- Chapter 11

I let out a small sob, as I stared at the scene, horrified. I can't believe that Maya had just stabbed him.. I ran to her, my eyes were overflowed with tears. Maya carefully pulled out the ice spear, not trying to make the would larger.

"Why did you stab him?!?" I cried at her, going to his body, and placed my hands on the wound, trying to stop the blood.

"Lin?" I cried to him, and placed my head on his chest to see if he was breathing. He was.

"Lin, hold on, okay?" I spoke to him again. I could feel my voice shaking.

"W-What do you mean why?! He had an evil aura!!" She yelled back at me, just as loud

"So!? Does he look ANYTHING like the men who captured us?!" I screamed, and wiped my tears, leaving blood marks on my face. I ripped my clear blue skirt into long strips, and messily wrapped them around his wound, putting a lot of pressure on. I had to get him to the hut before I could do anything much. I could see a dark liquid, blood, leak through the shreds. It was actually much colder with only a short skirt on..

"Yes, he does, actually!! Can you not see the style of clothing he wears?" she said, lowering her voice.

"Yes.. I can.. But he's different.. He's kind" I whispered.

I took a few breaths, and shifted into a blue tiger, nuzzling my head under his back, trying not to touch the wound as I got him onto my back. I knew it was bad to move him around, but I had to get him to the hut. When I knew he was secure on my back, I steadily ran back to the hut. I could feel the blood sinking through my shirt and onto my skin. As I brought Lin into the house, I took him into the guest room. The guest room is the only room, where there is actually a bed, not a futon, like how my sister and I sleep. I gently sled him off my back, placing him on top the bed, as his body tensed with pain. I shifted back to my normal self, and I frowned as I saw his face was very pale. I wasn't sure if it was paler than before, but I couldn't see his face as well, so I assumed so. I ran back into the main room to get the first aid kit, and a few blankets.

"Maya.. Can you.. um.. take his shirt off.. for me.." I could feel my face heating up as I said it, and I suppressed a smile, as I ran back into the guest room, placing the first aid kit and blankets down.

"God, Candace, I don't get why you can't do it. Your obviously old enough." She thought, irritated that I stood up for him, and exited the hut.

"Fine then."

I took a step towards him, my face felt hotter and hotter, with each quick step I took. I shook my head. This wasn't thetime to be getting all lovey-dovey. I quickly took off his sword, and placed it carefully on the ground with a thump. It was actually, surprisingly very heavy. How he took it around every where, I don't know. I grabbed his shirt from his waist, and carefully, and tugged his shirt off, sliding it up in the front, then the back, and working on the pattern, until it was off his body. I could feel my face heat up, as I looked at his torso.
He was so... muscular..
I shook my head, and concentrated on the wound. Mom had taught me a lot about wounds, and illness, since I was always interested in helping those who had injuries.
I brought out the bandages, and went into a small drawer, that I kept in the room, filled with medical herbs. I took off my now blood filled skirt from his stomach, and I used a cloth to wipe off the blood that was around the wound. I rubbed the injury with some of the herbs, and instantly started to wrap the bandages tightly around him, about ten times. The herbs were believed to help heal any injury, and ensure a safe recovery. When the bandages got near to the end, I tied the ends off, and went on my knees, as I grabbed a blanket, placing them on his body to keep him warm. I put both my hands crossed, on the gash, and applied pressure.. I could only hope this would stop the bleeding.
I stared at my hands, that were covered with blood, as they pressed pressure onto the wound. I could feel the blood on my back, that leaked through my shirt. I would need new clothes.

Maya brought me a pale of warm water, and a clean white cloth, sitting on the side of the pale. I turned my head, and nodded my head at her, as my thanks.
At least she was trying to help me, since she obviously didn't like Lin. She placed the small cloth onto his forehead, and I smiled. I brought my eyes back to his face. He did sort of look like those men a few years ago... I could feel my tears coming back, and I wiped my face on my shoulder. This was no time in hell to be crying.

"..Candace" I heard Maya call my name, and I jumped. I didn't realize she was still there. She was so silent.

"Yes?" I replied. My voice was more shaky than I realized

"..I dont see why you don't let him die.." Maya thought to my bitterly

"Maya, leave it alone. I don't need this right now." I replied, and squeezed my eyes.

"Oh, Right. I have a surprise for you. You better like it" I called over a silver butterfly, and it landed on my shoulder, then flew into Maya's direction.

"Follow this butterfly, okay? Don't lose sight of it" The butterfly landed on her finger, and then flew off, going to the exit of the hut.

Maya was quickly running after it. I looked back towards Lin. He was getting some more color in his face, which made me feel a lot better, for some reason. I looked at the blanket, and I saw it was darker in a spot, meaning that he was still bleeding heavily. I stood up, to apply the pressure better.

x o x o x o x o

It had been a few hours, and I was still applying pressure, while humming to myself. In a way it was like letting Lin know he wasn't alone.
Yes, my hands do hurt, a lot, but this pain would be nothing compared to the pain I would feel if I were to lose him.. I took a shaky breath, and wiped my tears for the millionth time. I didn't really think he was still bleeding, but I didn't want to take any chances.

"Okay fine. I'll change his bandages now." I think I was supposed to change them before, but something told me that I should leave them on. I took off the blanket, and I stared unwrapping the bandages very carefully. I felt my face heat up again.

"Okay.. So.. he is VERY muscular..." Which to me, seemed like a heavy understatement.

I inspected the deep cut, and came to the conclusion that the bleeding had mostly come to a stop. I threw the bloody bandages to the ground, and immediately rubbed some more herbs on, and re-wrapped it fairly tight. I didn't want the wound to open up again. I tied them off once again, and this time took a good look at myself.

I was drenched in his blood. My shirt, my long skirt, a bit was on my much shorter skirt, and not to mention my face had blood all over it. I seriously needed to get new clothing. I removed the white cloth from Lin's forehead, and placed it back into the bucket, squeezing out the access water a couple times, then placed it back on his forehead. I brought out another blanket, and placed it on top of him. I hope Maya was happy with Jason.
Besides the fact that Lin got stabbed, I think my plan worked out pretty well. My heart felt like it was bubbling with happiness, and I gave a huge smile to nobody in particular.
I heard the door open, and I turned around, almost stumbling onto Lin. Maya walked through with Jason, smiling as if she had never smiled before. I kinda felt like crying, they looked so happy. Maya's face suddenly became hard, and she fixed her glaze on me. I stared back at her, kind of shocked from her sudden change of mood.

"Candace.. We need to talk." I shifted my eyes to Lin, and back to Maya as I followed her out of the room. I saw Jason stand where I was standing before, and gave a worried glance at the bloodied bandages on the ground, and looked at Lin again.

I could only hope everything would be okay..
