About the job lossage...

It was nothing that I did.

They just couldn't keep so many employees.
So, Crystal (the owner) went through last weeks schedule and saw who worked the least.

Of course, I was one of those people. She planned it out that way.

But, Tuesday and Thursday, Leslie called me up and asked, "Hey Jess, we're short a couple of people, do you want to come in at 4 and work till close today?" And because we were stocking up and getting ready for Christmas and Thanksgiving, we stayed until 10-11 most nights.

So I did.

So, I was unpleasantly surprised that I got fired yesterday.
Canned.
"Let go" seems the most optimistic way to say it, with it sounding like you're being set free from a cage.

The only problem is trying to find another cage to climb into for safety. ._.

Susan, the main manager I worked with, was very upset about having to let me go. She ranted about all of the other people they could've let go of instead, like Mathis and Jessica James -- because I'm actually working (unlike Mathis) and nice to everyone there (unlike the other Jessica). There was no one that had a problem with me.
No drama.

We got out earlier than we would have without me there, Leslie constantly thanked me for working fast and working well so we could leave earlier -- "Last year, we had the same goals for the end of the day, getting ready for Christmas, and didn't leave until like, 1-2. You just saved us 4 hours. Thank you for letting me go sleep sooner."

But Susan wrote me a letter of recommendation to her friend Mary, who is a manager at Starbucks. ._.
It's $7 an hour and comes with health benefits, even for parttime workers.

Even if I hate the smell of coffee and do not in any way look forward to making drinks all day that have absolutely no alcohol in them...
It's a place to try for.

Susan gave me a hug when I left and told me I could use her discount when I came back for birthdays...

Gracie's Baby Song's DVD is almost over and I need to get some lunch in her and send her to nap so I can make phone calls and try to find a new job.
