It's a tough week. I'm taking the Praxis I test this weekend (required for teacher certification in most states) and I'm just stressing. I also am having more and more trouble staying on top of my work. I'm only not working now because Wednesday is my absolute longest day with almost no breaks. I went to work almost right after Band got out at 7:45-50. I took maybe a 20 minutes at most to check online messages, set up my IPod to change and sync since it hasn't since before December, and I had to plug in my Piano again so I could practice for tomorrow's test in Piano II. We weren't told about it until Tuesday in class and I could not find time to go over the material for tomorrow until tonight. I worked for 2 hours. I can't anymore I couldn't focus anymore my brain just shut off. Then I had to type up a poem for my Gen-ed class and get it printed off. Something is wrong with one of my USB ports suddenly because my printer prints out s**t and symbols if I plug it into the top one. I had to take out my IPod to get that fixed so I could use the other port.
Luckily my composition for my Percussion Methods class (5 parts, 12-36 measures) was extended from this Friday to Next Friday. In class today I started hearing something in my head and needed to sketch it down immediately on scrap paper so I wouldn't forget it later when I could put it on staff paper. I needed pitches. Luckily I found a moment to sneak over to the Xylophone and get my pitches immediately and wrote them down. The piece is gonna have Xylophone or Bells, I haven't decided what sound I want for the part yet, Marimba (big huge wooden Xylophone-looking instrument), Triangle, Tambourine, and Bass Drum. These are just the instruments I heard in my head playing along with the pitched instrument part I came up with in class... so I will use these instruments and hope they sound alright.
Friday we MUST have a placement at a location for Observations/Practicum experiences for my Children with Disabilities course. I've had trouble with that due to limited transportation, time conflict with classes, and departments that don't want more than one student at a time (which would be the student I would have carpooled with). I'm trying to get a placement out of state at my home with my high school now. I haven't heard back yet and I emailed the principal Monday afternoon (I could not sooner. I didn't have the material to email him and the week I was going to do all this sooner, I fell ill for the entire week and had to spend the following catching up on work and regaining full strength for walking). My instructor though has stated to me today that she left a message with the Special Ed department of the school because they contacted her. They wouldn't contact her I would think if they weren't considering letting me observe there, since i told them to contact her with any questions. She said the head of the department from the school had called her. So here's hoping this works out... Since communication has started between them I probably can expect to hear something tomorrow afternoon or Friday morning. I need to hear back by Friday morning...
I also have a "media poster" project due for this class Monday. I still need to pick up poster board. Sunday the stores were either sold out, or closed. Monday was a snow day and it was safer to not leave the dorms, on campus stores would be closed as well. Tuesday I didn't find time. Today I had absolutely NO time. This weekend I can't do the poster because of the Praxis test. It's gonna take up my entire Saturday, and I should be traveling back on Sunday. I'm really hoping I can get it at least started tomorrow. I was really trying this semester and had to get ******** sick.
