"Dasterdly heart," the girl said. "Dreaded thing."
She quietly sipped on the wine and pursed her lips to the taste.
"Not yet..."
She took another sip, and glared at the diamond dressed ring that lay on the table.
"Horrid object, the heart..." she said again, "I wish mine never took a beat to begin with."
The clock ticked slower than usual, the time turned its skeptical face toward the girl. Almost teasingly, it barely moved the second hand.
Tick... Tock..... T...ick..... T....O...C....K....
"Such a waste of wine... It's best used for happy occasions."
A swig was exchanged for several little sips.
"Not long now..."
The solitude of the night was creeping along the edge of the girl's mind. She would have gone mad if there was not the comfort of alcohol to calm her nerves. It would have been better for her to leave right then. Never to return or be heard of for eternity.
Another swig.
The thoughts danced into her head. It would be better, after all.
As if someone was coherent to her reeling imagination, a knock came upon the door.
Her gentle kisses carressed the bottle's mouth as she tilted its bottom upward.
"Unlocked," she stated, finished with the sip of refreshment.
The man that entered had a ring of his own, but he took it off and laid it beside hers. His was more of a band than a ring... a sign of the permanent vow that haunts the girl to this very evening.
"Drinking again?" he asks the girl, while softly entreating her with seductive endeavors.
"Yes. To celebrate." Sarcasm, with its cynical character, relishing those words.
"Let us not think about the present..." He said, whispering alluringly into her ear.
She glanced into the bottle one last time and greedily indulged into that intoxicating bliss.
His continuous enticements teased her mentality. Right and wrong erased from her mind.
The night was long...
Tick... Tock...
