Of the many races in Gaia, possible one of the most famous and illusive is the oni. Darling monsters, something of the East's equivalent to ogres or demons. Usually, they sport one or two horns. Very few have a third. (*1)
Partying, socializing, and overall having fun is one of their life's goals. The other is to abduct handsome men and make children with them. Or just screw around with the men's families.
Kin, to some extent, is an exception.
Although she loves to party as much as any other oni, she prefers to care for her younger sister, forced to stay underground (currently for reasons she will not disclose).
Much like a very famous oni, Kin does not appear all that frightening. In fact, if you hid her horns, she would look relatively human! (*2) Then again, she always admired human style...
And then again, her personality is more human than oni. Growing up with humans tends to do that to you...
But unlike most oni, she does not drink as much. Tending to a younger sister as well as a huge underground oasis is rough and only does drink after a long day, before sleep.
Or at parties.
Or in rare cases, before fighting.

Again, like this famous oni, Kin's ability involves physics.
However, it could be considered more dangerous.
With enough focus, Kin can turn any kind of object into something else of a different state. (*3)

Want some cubes of solidified oxygen, or even gassy titanium (for that shiny chrome finish)?
Why not!
Just like the Ghost Princess and the Boundary Woman, Kin could kill you without much effort.
Unlike the other two, she has done this before.
They're usually killed in the fashion of that blue guy. (*4)
However, she has also been called Gaia's One-Stop Handiman, due to her ability.
It is also of mention that despite her powerful ability, Kin's horns are rather... small.

On the few days where she does not work -this includes about 13 days- Kin throws a large party, inviting friends at family. Of course, held in the oasis.

Kin generally fancies all ores and jewels, especially gold and silver. Oni who are able to decorate themselves can, and do so in a flashy manner. It especially shows as special kinds of parties.

Not all oni are alike. Since Kin is a Gensokyo oni (*5), she appears very human.
Countermeasures
The true ways of exterminating an oni has been long forgotten, and most do not want to deal with Kin anyways, since she can unexpectedly strike.
But they say if you add just a pinch of "knock out powder" (made from grinded Cherry Fluff remains and morocco berries) into something Kin will drink, she will pass out seconds after ingesting it. (*6) It's best to run very far away once this happens.
You probably have about a 25-second headstart.
The only other way is to talk with Kin.

She could vaporize you in seconds if you didn't mention the right thing.
