Visual Differences in Master Quest

User Image

-----

(If you're not interested than this journal entry is pointless for you so don't bother in reading.
I know this is REALLY OLD but I still hate how there's lack of visual differences between the games.)

If you're still new to zelda you can still read only if you want to, I would highly suggest the 64 games that you can purchase on the wii for only a few points/bucks.

Ahem anyway I'm sure a lot of people has played this game before me knowing that it came out a long a** time ago and re equiped on the Gamecube back in 2008.

I know they have regular Ocarina of Time on the wii just not sure about the Master Quest version.

But anyway this was my first playthrough ( WITHOUT CHEATING, yes I have Action Replay but my 'friends' need to know that it's not always fun to cheat then it gets boring ) and I managed to complete I guess a little bit less than half of the game.

Basically I only collected the three stones and went forward in Time.

I could've gotten this game but I had my reasons not to.

1) People say that only a few things are different but it's pretty much the same.

2) I didn't want to pay the money for it.

But my friend was nice enough to let me borrow it and I got into it cause the dungeons aren't a walk in the park like I thought.

The dungeons in the original Ocarina of Time doesn't compare but yeah that's understandable since Master Quest is a more "harder version" of it.

Anyway I'm going to go over some of the differences that caught my eye in the 3 dungeons.

(Yes I know my shots are blurry and dark but ah I do try to point out what I'm trying to show in some of the shots, sorry for that.)

Inside the Deku Tree

One of the things right when I entered and noticed right away was this.

Master Quest

User Image

Original

User Image

You never see those til like I dunno the end of the level. Although they can be a real pain in the a**.

Here's another shot with these abominations chillin' in this room with the slingshot.

Then as we go on we come across this room.

Another shot that went around was this room that I call the "Common Sense Room."

I spent probably 20 mins in there cause I kept thinking back to the Original Ocarina of Time where you hit a switch to lower the water height.

(I think I may be wrong about that though but I swear that you had to do something to the water)

But apparently I was thinking a bit too much and took a while for me to realize that

I'm about to duck under the spiky pole when you hold the Deku stick.

God I'm stupid.

Here's another shot of maybe an extra room or somewhat.

Master Quest

I don't remember this room as much, especially the fact that it had gravestones surrounding these torches.

It's really something different but not sure, this room could be in the original just probably placed differently.

Also before I forget these guys get on my nerves.

Just by the fact that Link's tiny self can't hit that abomination's head or "weak spot" it just makes me wish I was adult Link at the time.

But yeah there's more of these guys in this game...it's just really random.

Dodongo's Cavern

User Image

I know that picture isn't the real Dodongo boss but I dunno it's cute.

Anyway there isn't much for me to say about this one, I missed a lot of differences but yeah I know that.

I just didn't feel like doing much for this one since this isn't really a fun level because it's one of the dungeons I spent ages on.

User Image

This room is completely random but yeah then after a bit a ran into a few Poes below.

User Image

Lol I didn't think I'd be seeing a Poe this early especially in a room that doesn't even match the Dodongo atmosphere.

I mean seriously this room is so pointless.

I feel like they added so many extra rooms in this level to prevent you from completing the area fast.

But yeah I do like the fact that they made almost every room a puzzle even if it's just at the entrance.

Makes you think more and it makes the game last longer than it should.

User Image

Uh not much to say about this room but I really don't remember these blocks being in here.

They're pretty pointless though, they just lead you to rupees.

User Image

A ******** of bomb statues that SHOULD be ONLY known in the Spirit Temple. Nintendo likes to surprise people I guess. D:

Inside the Great Jabu Jabu

User Image

First things first...the entrance.

Master Quest

User Image

Original

User Image

Mega difference that no one can miss I mean if you look at the Master Quest shot there's 4 patches of grass on the bottom left and right corners, a rock, and two cows stuck on the wall.

Then you look at the Ocarina shot it only has a little switch...went from plain to insane I say.

User Image

Here's just a close up of one of the cows I don't know I find it pretty interesting and also in the Original it has ceiling switches but in this one Nintendo got a little creative and made the cows switches.

Poor things it makes me sad to shoot them with my slingshot but they don't seem to suffer since uh I was able to milk a few stuck on the walls. *cough*

User Image

Closeup of a cow that's surprisingly not stuck on Jabu Jabu's insides.

Really this cow doesn't do anything, I can't even milk it either. I call it the ghost cow cause you're able to walk uh...inside it...due to horrible Nintendo 64 boundaries.

I know it's not much but this is all that pretty much made me interested I'm a visual person even if I know the differences are typed out online somewhere you don't see many with reference screenies and I'm one to prefer shots then text.

I'm still in the middle of playing and not sure when I'll possibly continue but yeah as much as I want to complete the game I still need to do other stuff too.

Comment if you want to.

I still find it amazing how you notice so many details while you're playing your games...I'd be more focused on trying not to die. D: Must be nice to be a pro! XD

You actually milk cows in this game though? lol XD
