Arle Greal and Earl Grey.
These two boys you see in this drawing is just one person.
It all started when I was inspired by CP 9 of One Piece. 4 of their members, Kaku, Kalifa, Lucci and Blueno betrayed the Galley-la Company. (Minus Blueno, because he isn't part of the company. He works as a bartender.)
So yeah. I was thinking of making a fanfic, wherein it would be centered around CP 5 trying to catch the former CP 9 members. I sorta liked it, but I can't draw a lot of people. Especially unusual looking ones. >.> I canceled the idea. =o
One night, when I was bored, I started drawing random OCs. One of which was Arle Greal. (I didn't name him at first.) He used to not have freckles but an image of Ace wearing black clothing (He wore black clothing once. I don't remember what episode.) keeps on showing in my head. Thus resulting Arle getting freckles.
Arle's eyes were covered by his beanie before, but it looked pretty weird so I made his bangs cover his eyes. His jacket used to have a Kangaroo pouch but I removed it because his jacket might look like Kaku's Galley La Jacket. >.>
It wasn't clear too that he was wearing something underneath that Jacket of his. So I added a turtleneck thingy underneath. =o
Now for the Earl Gray part. Yes, weird name, I know. I was inspired by White and Nerdy.(Blargh, I don't remember why I was watching that while I was drawing Earl/Arle.) They mentioned Earl Gray Tea in the song. I thought, that sounded like a name. So I named the guy with the beanie Earl. Now, I was still thinking on how to fit in the betrayal part or something similar into Earl's life. He could be a spy or something. But not the kind CP 9 was to the Galley La Company. Nope, he doesn't assassinate. He only collects information for the World Government. To create the name he uses when he's on a mission, I jumbled the letters in Earl to make Arle. I got a few letters from Earl when making his last name.
So, he is known as Arle Greal (Or Greal Arle if it's in the Japanese order. ) when he's wearing his beanie and spying. And Earl Grey (Grey Earl) when he's currently in the Headquarters or not spying.
Okay, about his ears, I wanted to make them look unusual like Kaku's long square-like nose. But if I made his nose long, it would seem I am copying Usopp's (And any other long nosed character out there in OP) long nose. So I made his ears look a little bit like Spock's or an Elf's and then added piercings for kicks.
As you can see, his true identity, (Earl Grey) is holding some kind of pellet. Yes, a pellet. It is like the one's that Usopp uses. I am still doubting whether or not to make him a sharp shooter like Usopp. =o Anyway, he doesn't use slingshots, he uses his hand, for flicking the pellets into the enemy's mouth or something. He thinks it's much more accurate that way.
His pellets can be used for poisoning people. This skill of his is very useful when he's spying and he needs to poison a person to keep his identity secret. He does this is a good distance from his target, and when the pellets get in the victim's mouth, it would seem the victim died naturally, if not examined.
Also, one last thought. I think I named him Earl Grey because he likes to drink tea? Maaybe.
