Damn if I do...darn if I don't...
I'm in an economically odd position.

I don't have a job, see. I get my money from my old man, as child support (I'll continue to do so until I'm 21). My mother doesn't touch that money, though. She has to be in a real crunch to consider asking me for money. I also get a little bit of dough from the government. I'm in a program in Puerto Rico called 'Vocational Rehabilitation'--it's a government program dedicated to helping disabled individuals participate in society. They do things like help people plan their pre-and-post-grad goals (although, to my knowledge, they only help up to the Master's degree), and give a little pension on the side (this depends on the beneficiary's income).

I'm not gonna say how much I earn a month--suffice it to say I have enough to pay a $100 rent, a cell phone, about three bags of cat food, groceries, and whatever else might strike my fancy for four weeks.

The problem is making it last--what with impulse buys that one just can't shake off (Etrian Odyssey II, I'm looking at you), out-of-the-blue things like Mom needing an emergency loan from me to pay for the car, or sudden trips to Wendy's brought on by the World's Localized Human Example of Chaos Theory, a.k.a., my friend, Rene, things last about four weeks, period. Dad likes to be a d**k and wait upwards of three days on his payments (he claims he 'gets sick'), and as it is, the government is behind on the last three checks for Voc. Rehab.

The easiest way out is to get a job, but that's just putting me into the fire, as opposed to the frying pan--that would hinder my studying time, take out my Voc. Rehab pension as a whole, possibly lessen my income from Dad (not to mention my scholastic grant) and mean I'd have to get a car.

...Man, it really makes me feel like a leech... stare
