klay, lucy, and aya, are students at shibousen. a school specifically built to train its students to become either weapon technicians (aka:weapon meisters), or death scythes. depending on if your a weapon or a technician. the technicians and their weapon partners, attend the school as if it were a normal school, but have particular missions here and there to find, and slay a kishin soul. or more rather, a being with a kishin soul in its egg state. upon killing the being with a kishin soul, the weapon will consume it, bringing him/her closer to becoming a death scythe.
for a weapon to reach the rank of "death scythe", the weapon and their technician partner must kill and harvest the souls of 99 kishin eggs. and kill and harvest one witch soul. if one has 99 kishin soul, and eats a soul other than a witch soul, they have to start all over.
technicians: a person who become partners with weapons.
weapons: a human who has the ability to actually change his/her shape into a weapon. depending on the person, the weapon form varies.

a weapon technician. at first glance, he seems like a normal human. but his soul is among the strongest at shibousen. though among the strongest, he's still only a level one technician cause his soul is still overall...undefined. he's yet to find himself, so he cant really define his soul. so people with abilities to see an other beings soul, his is just white. nothing special about it. stay's in a large cozy building, given to them by shinigami (the founder of shibousen). lives there with lucy and aya. having both lucy and aya as a partner, his quota for collecting kishin/witch souls doubles. so instead of needing 99kishin/1witch. he needs to kill and harvest 198 kishin/2witch.
personality:
usually seen smiling, and has eager eyes. considering his past, and the fact his soul is undefined, you'd expect him to be all bleak and pessimistic. but when ever around others he just bares an eager smile. is he truly as happy as he comes off, or does he hide some sort of pain away? kind, generous, loyal, fast, literally someone you would want on your side. weather its basketball, or fighting a kishin. a great ally. though with his kindness he can be sort of a push over, though still has his own morals. he claims to have joined shibousen to protect people from the threat of a kishin arising in the world again, or a kishin egg killing and harvesting innocent souls.
background/past:
doesn’t talk about it much. he had a family. but at an exceedingly young age (4), a kishin attacked his family. before the kishin could kill klay, a technician killed the kishin. he was put up in shibousen for a few days until they found a foster family for him. there he met lucy, who’s family had also died by the same kishin. staying with the foster family 'till about 13 (lucy 14), another kishin attacked them. once more before the kishin could kill klay or lucy, a shibousen technician and his partner stopped it. this time instead of having shibousen keep them 'till they could find a foster family, they decided to become students at shibousen. at the following years opening ceremony, they found that lucy was a weapon, and decided to become partners, seeing as how they were already so close to each other, from living in the same place for most of their lives. also being around each other for so long, lucy found it considerably easy to match soul wavelengths with clay, even with his undefined soul.

a weapon. currently has 9 kishin souls.
not exactly the talker. in innocent surroundings, she has a kind, genital, but aloof look in her eyes. but in a battle situation, she has a piercing, fiery gaze. if fighting alone, she uses her legs most of the time. accompanied by the phrase "know your place".
has two weapon forms. one is the form of a gun. a silver .45 . the other is a sword. or rather...a nijuto (i think that’s what its called). sort of like a katana, though instead of slightly curved, its a bit shorter and straight. was given the nickname "the crimson" from the students of shibousen, based from her crimson colored eyes.
personality:
kind of quiet. can come off a little cold, in a battle situation. but in every day situations, is a lot warmer. she's very clever and smart. not really one to insult. if you insult her, or her friends, her warm eyes will change to cold, and probably kick you (think of moka's "know your place kick" from rosario+vampire, lol)
background/past:
she doesn’t talk about it much. even though she's so close to klay, even he doesn’t know anything about her before they met at the foster family. but will sometimes reminisce with klay about those times.
Aya
weapon. current has 5 kishin souls.
joined klay and lucy when they were around 15 (klay) and 16 (lucy). she somehow found it easy to match their wavelengths, even with klay's soul undefined, and lucy's being cool and somberly innocent one minute, and cold the next.
her weapon forms are eerily similar to lucy's. a gun. a black .45 . and a sword. though her sword form is more the shape of a rapier, with a black blade, and a deep blue streak down its center.
given the alias "saphire" . as like lucy, the reasoning is her eye color.
personality:
more the "party" kind of person. loud, a tab obnoxious, but really fun to be around. or annoying...depending on how you see it. her shibousen student ID pic look way more innocent than what she truly is. in a fight, her motto is, "hit 'em fast and hit 'em hard". her eyes constantly have a sort of teasing look. she's the kind that likes to show her body, though not slutty or anything. just not as modest as lucy. with that said, she's the kind of person that if a battle were to come up, she'd be ready in a heart beat. no matter what she was previously doing. so guys who attack her while she's bathing or something will be at a disadvantage ( *stares as nose starts to bleed* lol XD). in that scenario she'd just stand ready to fight.
past: lost her memories, so doesn’t know much. before meeting klay/lucy, she pretty much lived life on a whim. doing anything, and everything she wanted. wanted in a few regions for some crimes. honestly couldn’t care much for her life at those times. one day she was attacked by a kishin. and was saved by klay/lucy. all she saw was klay standing there, with a blade. risking his own well being to save her. she became partly infatuated by him, and asked if she could join them. after showing her lonely/heartbroken side about living an honestly empty life. and proving she could match with klay's wavelength, klay agreed.
