The Story of Jeremiah

He came from a far land. He rode on the back of his mighty steed. He fought many fights on his travels, and he survived them all. Who is he you ask? He is Jeremiah. But there is one fight that Jeremiah did not win.

Jeremiah had heard from many mouths the King Opocis was looking for a man to wed his daughter Telfaira to. Many thought Jeremiah was the man for the job, and so did Jeremiah himself. Jeremiah was young, handsome and brave. So when Jeremiah got the news he rode off on Kaiyor his mighty steed and rode off toward the city Opocolis which King Opocis was named after. When he arrived he proposed to the princess. Of course she didn’t say yes she decided to think about it.

One day the son of a noble man can and proposed to Telfaira. His name was Rondos. Now Rondos was much richer the Jeremiah so the princess said yes right away. Jeremiah was outrage. One night Jeremiah arranged to meet the princess in the palace garden to congratulate her. When night came Telfaira met Jeremiah in the garden as she promised she would. Jeremiah held a knife in his hand.
You are not planning on killing me are you?” She asked Jeremiah. “No you shall not be dieing tonight” he said.

The princess and Jeremiah talked for a long while. Jeremiah asked her when the wedding was.
“Next week”. She said. Jeremiah just nodded then stood up before speaking.
“Tonight I said I’d congratulate you but that was a lie. I came to give you your wedding gift before I leave. And there is only one thing I can give you for turning me down. For a gift I give you my life! And I hope on the day that is supposed to be happy for you, you are sad and when you sleep you shall see this night in you dreams and that you shall remember this night as clearly as it is now for the rest of your life!" And with that Jeremiah plunged the knife into his shattered heart and died. The princess ran screaming. The guards found Jeremiah’s dead body and froze with fear. On the princess’s wedding day she was sad. When she slept she dreamed of the night when he killed himself. And for the rest of her life she remembered as clearly as it was the night Jeremiah died.
